This place is much more than just a metaphysical bookstore. They provide classes, workshops, ritual tools, psychic readings (if you don’t want to do it yourself) gifts and, of course, books. The store is lovely, organized and well kept. It sounds and smells amazing the moment you walk Get a coffee next door and browse through a few books, I guarantee you’ll find a few gems. And topics range from many different areas and spiritual beliefs, so it’s very likely you’ll find something you’ll connect with.
On the owner: Sandi is the wonderful and knowledgeable owner of the store. With over 30 years of expertise in this industry, she will help you find (and help you find out) what you’re really looking for. You need to know about Scott Cunningham? She’s probably got all his books. Looking for an old book on chakras? She’ll tell you if it’s still in print or not. Trying to find the right tarot cards? She’s got binders of almost ALL OF THEM for you to browse through at your leisure. You’re a newbie in a particular area and don’t know where to start? She’s got something for you too! Got no idea what you’re doing there and you just wanna buy your wife a nice present for your anniversary? Sandi will gladly help you out. Don’t be shy, just ask! She’s not going to push a product you don’t want. She’s keeping an eye out on those who come into her store, as any good, attentive store owner would do. The fact that Soul Journey has been around as long as it has says it all! I’ve come to greatly appreciate her and her business in our community.
I forgot to mention the frequent (broomstick) flyer miles! The Frequent Buyer Club (aka The Broomstick Club) allows Frequent shoppers to gain 25% off coupon when you spend $250 in the store. It’s a nice bonus when you’ve been there a few times.
If I could give it ten stars, I would. If you’re looking for source material for spiritual inspiration, this...
Read moreLately me and my girlfriend have been exploring many different metaphysical shops and happened to come across Soul Journey. The store itself is beautiful and offers a lot. But like many others have said, the owner is very unwelcoming. I spent roughly 20minutes browsing the store with no other customers inside, only to be rudely approached and questioned if I knew what I wanted. She pointed out that we were looking at the spell books and the sprays. She asked if I had any questions I could ask her. While that was a nice gesture it was said very rudely. I also caught her staring me and my girlfriend down the whole time we were there. I understand if someone is concerned about their products or maybe does truly wanna help the customers, but there is just no excuse for poor customer service; especially to new customers. I drove over 40minutes and I wanted to take my time. I even thought about asking further questions about the spell books but the rude comments completely turned me off And I will never return to this store again. I’m not one to write reviews ever but I felt very uncomfortable and my girlfriend did as well and I had to...
Read moreThe store is a close drive by me and I usually frequent a crystal store in Montclair called Rocky’s Crystals and Minerals where I get a lot of my stones, sage, incense etc. I was looking around the store and browsing around and I noticed they had some resin incense. I've only ever used stick incense so I genuinely did not know how to use resin so I asked her more about it. She explained a little about them and then I proceeded to ask if you put them in the metal holders since there were a lot of them by the resin products. She stops then looks at me in a condescending manner and tells me, "Let's go back to high school physics. Metal conducts heat so you're gonna burn your hand if you touch it. Don't be stupid." Her tone was offensive and I was completely surprised by it. I was interested in buying a moldavite ring I found along with some palo alto but I decided to just leave after that occurrence. I thought it may have just been some form of miscommunication but after reading some of the other reviews, it's not too far off from my experience. The store has a lot of neat...
