It was our first time whitewater rafting trip and initially we purchased the easier, Big Horn trip. I was very nervous about going through class 4+ rapids, after all, I did not want to drown on my vacation. Katie, the helpful girl at the counter recommended that we switch over to the Gorge trip instead. I was super nervous about switching, but did, and am so glad!!! (As an added plus, there are not super young or loud children if you raft the Gorge)My husband and I stayed in Colorado Springs and did all the traditional things such as seven falls and hiked up to inspiration cliff, garden of the gods, COG trail way, and Manitou Cliff dwellings. This portion of the trip was by far the best !!! Our guide Will was very informative and helped us to feel safe, while still having a great time. My husband actually fell out during one of the rapids, but due to Will and the other guys on the bus being so informative (they go over in full detail what to do in every possible scenario), my husband stayed calm, and we got him back in the raft and kept going on. The guide will also ask for two volunteers to be in the front of the raft, I would suggest doing it !!! I think it was the most exciting spot on the raft, but this was my first time. so I am biased :-)The only thing I wish I would have done differently is book the Jeep tours in addition. Next time though, I will definitely do both. Rafting with the Raft Masters is going to be something we do every time we come back to the area. On a side note, the guides do accept tips so make sure to bring some cash for that, they work hard and keep you entertained, so they deserve it !!! I did not really think about it when I planned the trip, but luckily found a $20...

I had a great experience with Raft Masters doing the half day trip in Royal Gorge! I had never done any whitewater rafting before and was a little nervous but after we got started I felt comfortable and I really enjoyed myself. I think this was because I was in very capable hands with our guide John-o and was prepared when the rapids started. This started with the front office staff patiently answering all my questions (and I am sure they get asked the same questions hundreds of times a day!) Then when we got our gear the guides checked everyone's' personal flotation device to make sure it was fitted properly. On the bus ride over to the river the trip leader went over safety details and communication and told us what to do just in case anyone ended up in the water. Then when we got on the river we had a chance to practice paddling as a team with our guide before the rapids started. Because of all this attention to detail when the fun began I felt confident and excited but not scared, and I was actually sad when it was time to go ashore. I will definitely be doing this again, it is addicting! In fact I am already thinking about doing a full day trip with Raft Masters. I can't think why I should switch to another company when I had such a positive experience with...

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. We had a fantastic float through Raft Masters! We booked ahead of time and chose our guide, whom we had before, and enjoyed her a lot. She rearranged her day and schedule to be our guide, despite it being a rather cold and cloudy day, of which she was scheduled to be inside that day, but she still rearranged her day so that she could be our guide since we requested her. She easily could have been unavailable that day! Everything went smoothly and we would definitely recommend them! We have used raft Masters for several years and continue to go back to them because we trust them and they do a great job. We left after our float for a 12 hour drive home and got about an hour from Raft Masters and I realized I had forgot my necklace. I called up there and spoke to Emily and she found my necklace and told me she would ship it out certified mail that day . She texted me a little bit later and told me that the necklace had already shipped from them and sent me the tracking number. This was a new necklace that meant a lot to me and I appreciate her doing that more than she could ever know. Everyone we have ever encountered through Raft Masters has been great and extremely friendly. We would hands-down recommend them and will continue to use...

This last Sunday afternoon Cole ( very experienced) led us down the river. There were 3 in my party and 2 others. Excellent time. We took the level 2-3 rapids which was great for us. The more adventurous or for a second trip may want to go to the next level higher. Plan on plenty of sunshine( if you need sun lotion), bring or use their non slip off water shoes, pictures are pretty hefty price at the end(1-35 or all( 6-10) for 65)( and then only by email), their showers are not working for when you finish, as warmer time (air 90& water 65) no wet suits( if using them try to have clothes under that are less likely to ride up), and they are located in town and will take you by bus. Had three rules if I remember; have fun, don’t panic and help yourself while others are trying to help you if you fall in. No one fell in with the three rafts in our group. The next level of rapids has more falling in. From what I understand. You can really have a great time if you let yourself.

⸻ An Unforgettable Adventure! Having spent my whole life in the flatlands of the Great Plains — with most vacations revolving around beaches or Disney — I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a river trip. But wow, the scenery alone absolutely blew me away! Towering canyon walls, rushing water, and breathtaking views around every bend… it was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced — and definitely enough to bring me back (hopefully very soon!). The crew at Raft Masters were fantastic hosts from start to finish. We did the AM Big Horn trip with Macey as our guide, and she was incredible! Super knowledgeable about the area, funny, friendly, and clearly a pro on the river. You could tell she genuinely loves what she does — and it made the whole trip even more enjoyable. I would 100% recommend Raft Masters to anyone, especially if it’s your first time rafting like it was for us. And if you can, book with Macey — you won’t regret it!
