On July 18, 2023, we gave the Village Inn one more chance to not disappoint, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. On this 4th and final visit, we arrived with no hostess in sight. My companion found her in the back, arguing with one of the cooks. When she finally came out to seat us, with others waiting as well, she rolled her eyes at me in disgust that we had to hunt her down. Once we were finally seated, her attitude didn't improve, and it was clear she was annoyed. Then we sat waiting for several more minutes for the waitress to show up only to see her also agitated and "out of sorts!" She never did make it to our table. In fact, it only looked like there was one waitress on duty that day. Nonetheless, the place wasn't all that busy with seated customers, but the atmosphere felt chaotic and uncomfortable. After waiting several more minutes, we decided to leave. On the previous occassions we ate there, the food was subpar, the place was dirty, the tables sticky, and the overall experiences were less than satisfactory. Like I first said, this was the last time we will ever eat there. For the high prices you pay, the place is simply not worth the money or aggravation, and I wouldn't even give it a one star if that...
Read moreLast night my fiancé and I went to village in for a late dinner. He ordered a ultimate skillet with no mushrooms with 2 of the new handmade sausages on the side. I ordered the French toast with eggs and hash browns. When we got our food his order had mushrooms, we told the server he couldn't have mushrooms (he's allergic) and my order was fine. After about 10 minutes he got his corrected order and we ate. He finished about 1/2 of his meal before he started feeling sick, I only finished my French toast before I felt sick. We didn't think much of it. We got some boxes and paid for our meal and got half way home before we needed a restroom. We were sick all night long, we went to urgent care first thing this morning. Turns out we got food poisoning. I can say this will be the last time we will be eating at village inn. A nice night with a $32.00 meal, turned into both of us missing a day of work, a doctor visit, 2 prescriptions each and feeling horrible for...
Read moreOur server was very good, polite, attentive, and did her best to fix the disaster that was the meal. In my opinion the cook should stick to putting Pop Tarts in the toaster, they screwed nearly everything up. Plus they were out of ham to go with the VIB breakfast with the excuse it was a supplier issue. Been there before with this problem, it's more likely deliberate because of the price of ham or whoever orders food doesn't know what they're doing. If one vendor is consistently out of something, switch, there are several Food Service suppliers out there.
My wife's chicken fried steak was overdone on the outside and underdone on the inside with watery gravy. My pancakes were no better than so so. The hash browns for both orders were an overcooked dark brown and crunchy. A replacement brought by the waitress was cooked the right amount but it's obvious the cook doesn't clean the griddle since they tasted of onion. The only bright side was the coffee was...
