The Abbey — Attraction in Cañon City

My friend and I had the abby tour. This is a beautiful historic building that is being restored. That means you will see damaged areas. I am glad that someone is working to make the building commercially viable. The set-up they have for weddings is incredible. There is a whole bridal suite with changing rooms and a full bath. And get this: there is a hair salon as part of the bridal suite! You have to take in your own hair dresser, but the full salon set-up is available.

There are small museum displays of activities that took place and our tour guide knew the history well.

You may note references to a "haunted house" in the other reviews. Please make note that the haunted house is an annual fundraiser for a local boy scout troop and not part of the abby business. It should have its own Maps...

Love taking our dogs for a walk around the Abby! Beautiful view of the mountains. There has been an owl that hangs out at the Abby when we are walking our dogs. I would like to add, the new owners are doing an amazing job with cleaning up the grounds, adding new roofs on some of the buildings, it's always nice to see what they are working on next! It's looking more beautiful and cared for as it is a special part of Canon City and a peaceful area we can walk our dogs daily as the weather permits! I really appreciate the architecture of the Abbey. In the chapel, need a little more care due to water damage, but all in all Worth the visit. This was my second visit. I have pictures of the Abbey and will Definitely be posting them as well. These were taken last year. Wanted to share what I saw in side the Abbey. I have taken a few today, but not inside.
