Eastern Oak is the best park in the area. The remodeled park has been open since April of 2018. It had been a park for more than 40 years, but always hidden by the YMCA, that was formally there. The YMCA years ago was quite the hub of swimming, kids afterschool care and social events. It is so nice to have people back to the park and enjoy it. The tennis courts have been converted to Pickleball Courts. This has been great for the senior crowd to the people who have young kids to watch on the playground. Even young kids have been learning. Many of us that play there take pride in the park and pick up trash and notify the park district if there are issues anywhere in the park. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in world and especially in the US. Estimated Pickleball Players Within the United States In the Sports & Fitness Industry Association’s (SFIA) 2019 Pickleball Participant Report, they reported pickleball currently has 3.3 million players in the US. SFIA formed in 1906 and is the premier trade association for top brands, manufacturers, retailers and marketers in the American sporting goods and fitness industry. Here are a few details from the 2019 SFIA Pickleball Participation Report: Of the 3.3 million players, 2.0 million were “Casual” participants who play 1-7 times a year 1.3 million were “Core” participants who play 8 or more times a year The Average Annual Growth Rate (AAGR) for all players from 2015 to 2018 was 9.7%, for a total growth rate of 29.1% over three years 62% of participants are men; the percentage of participants who are women grew from 33% to 38% over three years The average age for all players is 41 years old The average age for Core players is 54 and Casual players 33 years old 64% of Core players are 55 or older 84% of Casual players are 54 or younger From 2015-2018: the percentage of Core players ages 54 and younger grew from 25% to 36% the percentage of Casual players ages 54 and younger grew from 78% to 84% these increases in the percentages of both Core and Casual less than 55 years of age reflect faster growth among younger players The percentages by age of Total, Core, and Casual participants are: AGE TOTAL CORE CASUAL 6-17 16.7% 8.1% 22.2% 18-34 28.0% 11.4% 38.6% 35-54 20.3% 16.3% 22.9% 55-64 14.9% 24.6% 8.7% 65+ 20.2% 39.6% 7.7%

Great place to bring your kids or dogs. This used to be the old YMCA location and the work they put in to this place was amazing. The new jungle gym is super creative and the pickle ball court is a big hit. Nice bathrooms with water fountains, plenty of parking. Really nice covered picnic area with benches and bbq's. Futsol court, large open grass area for soccer, rugby, etc. Great split dog park in the back corner with a big large dog side and smaller grassy small dog area. Both sides have benches and water fountains that have attached dog bowls.

Very beautiful new Park. My boys are into soccer and this Park is their new home for them. Soccer field, futsal court, basketball court, pickleball courts and playground, did I miss anything this place has it all. They also have two shaded picnic tables areas what BBQ Pits.

Its a good park, overall the reason for the one star is that there is cuss words on one of the park rides. Homeless people living in the bathrooms, dogs unleashed makes it an uncomfortable setting for your kids.

There's this one white Honda civic that keeps coming by speeding too fast in the parking lot harassing the community. I Heard them asking the public if anyone wants to buy any drugs. Its a Korean group in the car, youg adults. I dont find this place a safe environment.

Overall, its a good park to play at, I just hate criminal activities happening here on a daily basis. 😑 cops should really watch this place or at least place security...

Nice new park. Dog park is small but has large and small dog areas, but not much shade. Does have drinking water stations. My main issue with this dog park is that large dog owners often open the gate between the small and big dog areas to let their big dogs run back and forth. The problem is their big dogs poop in small dog area and the owners don’t pick it up because they are not watching their dogs or too lazy to get up and walk over and pick it up. I routinely have to pick up 6 or more piles of someone else’s dog poop when I come here. Really people, pick up your dog’s poop or...
