My family and I attended a birthday party for a friend's child and I wanted to document our experience. First off, the good things. The place was somewhat clean (except the mirrored wall, the skating floor was in okay condition, the arcade games were all working, the food was alright, and the music selection was great for people of all ages. They also offer skating assisting devices, which is great for new skaters, but it comes at an additional cost (??). Unfortunately, our experience with the staff soured our experience.
First, when we arrived the party mom thought the kids in the party and one adult for each kid had skate rentals available to them. It turns out only the kids were covered, so my husband was going to rent skates to ride around with our child as it was the first time he had been skating. Turns out, he had to pay for admission and skate rental as nothing was covered for the adults in the party. So, that is good to know for anyone who is planning to book a party.
Next, my husband went to rent skates and they did not have any in his size available, size 12. They had nothing larger than that either. As a result, my husband was unable to skate. So, I ended up getting skates instead. The skates themselves were okay, a little rough, but usable. A member of our party had purchased a skating assist device and was not using it, so the mother said our child would be more than welcome to use it instead and we began using it.
Shortly after we arrived, children from the party came over to our area crying uncontrollably because an employee kept telling them they were going the wrong way on the rink floor when they were clearly going in the correct direction. This child could not understand why they were being yelled at for things they were not doing and being told this in an extremely rude fashion.
About 2/3 of the way through the party, the same employee came up to me and my son and attempted to rip the skating assist device from our hands while saying they needed to take the device back. I told this employee that a member of our party purchased it and let us use it. They said their manager told them to take it back and again tried to rip it from my son's hands, nearly knocking him over. I told them it was paid for already and their action of pulling the device from my child's hands nearly knocked him over was uncalled for. At this point, my husband came up and asked the employee what was going on. The employee got rude and tried to snatch the device from our hands a 3rd time. At this point, my husband asked for their name and the manager. The employee refused to give their name and said she is over there very rude while still tugging on the device. At this point my husband asked to be taken to their manager when the employee said something under their breathe to my husband, said "I am taking this, you have no choice, and you can go find her yourself" and snatched the device from my family. This was absolutely unacceptable behavior from an employee to be doing to a customer.
When my husband found the manager and explained the situation to them, the manager just nodded her head and said, yes i see. She did not apologize for the way this employee treated my family and refused to give her name to my husband as well. She just nodded her head and offered no positive response. My husband then brought the party mom to the manager who explained that the skating device was purchased by a member of the party and the manager promptly gave it back. It is still unclear why this employee was so rudely trying to take the skating assist device from us in the first place.
All in all, the party was nice, but the blue-haired employee and manager on duty were rude and unhelpful to the patrons. So,...
Read moreAll of the kids at my sons party had a good time, however, I dont like how they operate. I paid for a party from 3-6pm. They have you sit out in the main area and have you put your things in 1 booth. When it's time to eat is when they bring you to the actual birthday party area. I paid good money to have my son party from 3-6 and for the decorations. They said you sit in the party area for 1 HOUR. Um no! Not when I've paid for a party from 3-6pm! I went to speak to the manager and told her I had a lot of parents coming and we cant just cram in 1 booth. I'm having this party so we can all sit TOGETHER. She said there were a lot of parties there that day. I get it so you cram as many parties as possible but you have the actual party and setup for 1 hour. That is a scam in my opinion. I've came here for many parties and one was for my niece and she was in the birthday party area for the ENTIRE time of her party. This should've been mentioned to me when I booked and I would've went elsewhere. I am not paying for decorations to be set up for 1 hour then for them to say we have to move. I even set up my own decorations. I was so confused when 3pm came and they were not setting up my sons table. There was an empty table there for 1 HOUR!!! I went and told my party host to hand over my decorations that I purchased and setup the table myself by 4pm. If I paid for a party from 3-6, than I need my sons table setup at 3pm. If that's the case, I would've just had everyone just meet up there and buy a few pizzas and call it a day. They also was letting people into the party asking them if they want to bill it. I had to go to the desk and remind the young man that if theyre not on the list, they are to pay and im the only one who decides who to add to my bill. I had to go up there 2 or 3x to tell him this. It was even written on the sheet!...
Read moreIf I could give NO STARS, I WOULD. DISGUSTING to say the least. I skated here as a kid so I decided to bring my daughter and her friends here for her bday. The snack bar is ridiculous on so many levels. For one the prices are a bit outrageous for the QUALITY OF FOOD, but let me further detail my experience. I ordered a FULL pizza, & a order of bosco stix. There were already two packages of bosco stix in the warmer that had been there since we arrived so I asked if they could make me fresh ones, and that I didn't mind the wait. Once my pizza was almost done (I was watching the entire time) the staff member grabbed the bosco stix from the warmer & put them in the oven.... I watched him do this... when I went up there to let him know I just saw what he did and that I didn't want those that I have been waiting for fresh ones he tried to tell me that he didn't do that, EVEN THOUGH AGAIN, I WATCHED HIM... so he finally agrees to make me the fresh ones. I waited a good 20mins before I went up back up there to ask if they were done and two female staff members were cleaning up a table from a family that just left. There was a pizza with about 4 slices left on the table and would u believe that they grabbed it to put in the warmer to resell! But no worries the other staff member said "wait! That one is bitten off of" and threw one slice away, and sure enough STILL stuck it in the warmer to sell by slice! SICK RIGHT?! Once they asked me why I was standing there, or what they could help with rather, I replied, I was waiting on the bosco stix. She disregarded checking to see if they were done and took the next person's order. When the person who took my order came back to check on them, they were burnt. I was so disgusted at this point, as I felt like it was done on purpose . Terrible terrible experience . I WILL NOT...
