Nicole Ramos of Plymouth Physical Therapy at Commerce, Michigan is an outstanding physical therapist and has helped me get back to 100 percent! I highly recommend her. I started my physical therapy journey approximately 1 ½ years ago. I had already started physical therapy at another center not associated with Plymouth PT because I had injured my bicep tendon and labrum and was unable to move my right totally behind my back.
What made me decide to switch to Plymouth Therapy? I felt like something wasnât right and that I was getting worse. I happened to mention this to a good friend that was currently being treated by Nicole at Plymouth PT in Commerce. The more he described his treatment plan; I began to realize that my treatment experiences couldnâtâ be more different. At that point, I decided to schedule an evaluation with Nicole. Within a few minutes of Nicoleâs examination, she discovered I was unable to bend my right arm it in one direction. I had no idea my arm couldnât bend in that direction nor did the PT I was currently using , because he never fully tested my arm. Nicole went on to exam my arm and range of motion and immediately had me try a couple of exercises. We discussed what she found through her examination and what she recommended for a treatment plan. I showed Nicole the physical therapy exercises I was doing 7 days a week and she pointed out that I wasnât allowing my muscles to rest; some of the exercises were for strengthening and some were for stretching. Right then and there, it was clear to me that I needed to switch over my physical therapy treatment to Nicole at Plymouth Therapy in Commerce.
Not everyone would have bothered to look further and get other opinions. I just knew something wasnât right and from that day forward I started to improve.
Part of creating a treatment plan with a patient is to manage the patient. Understand how active or inactive the patient is, what is the mindset, will the patient follow through with home exercise, will the patient do too much or too little, etc. I am mentioning this because I was highly motivated to get back to being 100 percent which could have work against me if it wasnât for Nicole managing me! I work out 5-6 days a week with two different gyms. Nicole understood that I tend to do things to the extreme and had to manage me and my workouts. She literally had me go over every type of exercise I typically do and banned me from doing certain exercises for the time being. She was very deliberate on what I could do outside of my physical therapy sessions. She kept a close eye on me. There were times I would ask âSo you will let me know when I can start lifting weights at the gym again, rightâ and she would absolutely look me straight in the eye and not say a word. Then we would both laughed. I tried to push Nicole into letting me do more at the gym, but she was not going to budge. Thank goodness! I completed my physical therapy successfully and gain full range of motion back, not to mention I really toned up my arms from all the arm exercises I did at PT!
I am now a total believer in physical therapy and finding the right PT can make all the difference. I consider myself lucky to have found Nicole and her team at Plymouth PT in Commerce.
I also want to compliment the rest of the staff at Plymouth PT commerce. From the other PTs, technicians, and Kerry at the front desk. They are always friendly, warm and welcoming. Itâs like you are one big family which made this healing process that much...

My elderly mother recently had the privilege of working with Andy Rabaut at Plymouth Physical Therapy Specialists, and the transformation was nothing short of remarkable. Having had 4-5 prior physical therapy experiences over the years, she has always been a difficult and discerning individual to please. In those previous encounters, she often returned home frustrated and uninterested in continuing her exercises. With Andy, however, everything was different.
From the very first session, my mother was not only comfortable but also genuinely happyâa rare sight. Andyâs gentle demeanor, politeness, and unwavering patience stood out immediately. He treated her with the utmost respect and dedication, taking the time to provide clear and simple explanations for every exercise. Most importantly, he made her feel valued and genuinely cared for. It was incredible to see her leave each session smiling, enthusiastic, and motivated to do every single exercise he had taught her.
As a physician, I had the opportunity to observe Andyâs work firsthand, and I was equally impressed. His academic knowledge and practical expertise are truly exceptional. Andy has an unparalleled ability to tailor treatments precisely to the patientâs needs while communicating complex concepts in an approachable manner. His professionalism and dedication to his craft are evident in everything he does.
Andy Rabaut has not only earned my respect as a highly skilled physical therapist but also as someone who profoundly impacted my motherâs outlook on physical therapy. If youâre looking for a therapist who combines expertise with genuine care, Andy is the one to see. I cannot recommend him highly enough, both as a physician and as a deeply grateful...
Read moreSo, I went here because of a chronic back problem that Iâve had for nearly three years. I think it being chronic pain has something to do with the issues I had here. I attended this location for about 3-4 months. I really liked it in the beginning, and I do believe they have great staff. However, I did have some issues.
Communication was an problem here. I was going here when we had the state of emergency days because it was so cold, and many snow days off from school. I obviously didnât want to go to Physical Therapy in -30° weather, or when it was super icy, so I would call off. They would insist that the roads are fine and I should come. It was frustrating because I donât want to get in an accident just to go to Physical Therapy. I do understand that with cancellations it gets annoying, but really? when itâs below 0 and the roads are icy?
I also had an issue with it being 3x per week. It was very annoying going there three times a week, especially because I went for months on end.
My physical therapist was great from the start, I really didnât have much hope considering this was the fourth pt I had tried for this problem, but there were issues with communication. I would say that my back hurts and she would try to help and do stretches with me, and adjust my back, etc. and most of the times it would feel worse and she would brush it off every time. This is the reason that I ended up leaving, because I would go there and be in more pain than I came.
Overall I believe this place was good, they have awesome machines and equipment, and really nice staff. I think because Iâve had chronic pain for so long, it was bound to not work out. I do recommend this place in spite of my...
