We had heard so much about Gervasi Vineyards and tried to book a stay several times in the past and this year we finally made it to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We stayed at The Casa, luxuriously appointed rooms decorated in Tuscan style. The king size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom has a very large shower and separate toilet room. Each room has it's own private patio with a table and 2 chairs for enjoying a breakfast and 2 other chairs to sit and enjoy the view of the pond and it's fountain. Accommodations include a complimentary breakfast one morning in your room and a coupon for $15 off for breakfast another day at the The Still. WE enjoyed walking the trails throughout the property. The cabernet sauvignon was quite pleasant but my husband was not impressed with the reds that he tasted. |I would have given this review 5 stars, however, I was very disappointed with the amount of noise from other guests outside and in the hallways on the last night of our stay (a Thursday??) It made for a very limited sleep. As this is a rather high end place, I would not expect that kind of behaviour from its guests. Also, be prepared for a large increase in price, as our stay on a Thursday was almost $100 more than the previous night. One expects an increase on the weekend but not on a week day. |We don't see ourselves returning to stay at Gervasi but would certainly return to either of the two...
Read moreWe had an overall good experience for our one night stay. The food and staff were very good. The view is peaceful and beautiful until evening, and then it picks up a bit. We stayed in the two story villa room that looks beautiful. We had a few cleaning issues that were not major. At checkout, we notified the desk and they apologized then took care of it appropriately. Breakfast was prompt and can be eaten in the room or in the nice communal area. The communal area has a coffee/ tea area that is self-serving and includes bottled water, juice, and pop, which is nice. If we needed anything, the staff brought it promptly. There is one table on the small patio overlooking the water so realistically only one couple would be sitting at the table at a time. This didn't pose a problem for us to wait our turn. Since the bedroom is above the entryway, we could hear the door shutting each time. A train came by around 2am and shook the whole building, the ceiling fan light came on by itself around 10pm. The property grounds look phenomenal, and the crew work hard to keep it as such, so it's shameful when grown adults throw trash on the ground, the trash was picked up quickly. The vineyard has signs that say they spray with pesticides. We frequent a lot of B&B's and plan to return...
Read moreHubby & I stayed in a villa, the Sorrento bldg. Villas are very nice, stayed in a 1 floor plan. If your 3 other villas in the same bldg are occupied, you will definitely hear people coming and going, doors slamming. We put spare towels down to cover the gap between the bottom of the door & the floor to cut out the noise…plus had 3 women staying in the one next to us & one talked very loudly! As with others, I had problems with the thermostat..the keypad showed the heat & “cool” were both on but it was cold! Hubby used the extra blanket and in the morning I turned the fireplace on. Could not watch TV from the couch, only from the bed, I hate watching TV in bed! Breakfast was good, egg frittata with fruit & a mini croissant. Went to Crush House & did some wine tasting, the dry reds were ok but didnt buy them. I believe the dinner menu there was cheaper than going over to The Bistro. With the cost per nite of the room being so high, take your $$$ & go to a private Airbnb for a couple of...
