This place has kind of become my go-to for boots they have a fair selection with only a few titles such as Rocky, georgia, ariat, and just a few others that I don't know off the top of my head. However while the titles themselves are limited the varieties of these titles are nearly unlimited if you have a particular style that you're looking for under one of these names it's probably here you can get anything from mud dogs, square toes, round nose, knee length ankle length swampers, combat boots, you name it. I was here shopping for boots for my job recently and haven't really used them for any other sort of item except my pistol I had bought about 4 or 5 months prior to this visit. They seemed to be struggling in the gun department when I purchased my gun however when I was in there a few days ago there was about four pistols in the case and a couple rifles on the rack on the wall and that was it nothing else they didn't have any ammo because the supplier is shutting them down or on back order or I don't really know why but that area of the store was the barest. I've never really used them for a fishing tackle store but they do have some variety in that department they have what I considered to be novelty items towards the front such as koozies, purses, wallets, coolers, just a real miscellaneous mashup of stuff. I don't really use the clothing section because what they carry is not really my style and it's not really my place to judge the woman's section because I definitely don't need anything from there however these sections do exist all in all it's a very good store and the people there are very friendly and very helpful they don't ignore you and if they see you looking confused they will definitely come up to you and ask you if they can help or at least recommend something that may...
Read moreI've went in a couple of times and spent at a sizeable amount of money. Last time was around 400.00 or so. Some employees seem to be nice, some seem to be uninterested and the others are snotty. I browse stores when I go. Never know, I might see something else I can use. The store employees appear to be watching you all the time. I do not like it. I do not steal. If I need help, I will come ask. I was purchasing some boots there. I prefer to purchase a pair of boots that don't look worn. I always look at the bottoms. I'm funny about wearing anything someone else had on. It's a military thing. Anyhow I told the girl and guy that I would like a pair that have not been worn. They looked at each other and then went and got me some more boots. The boots still had been worn. They brought me one more pair and one foot had been tried on. Yes I am a little picky about shoes but when your paying 200.00 you should get unworn shoes. I just took the boots and then I heard them laughing, like they got over. It's all good. They lost a family of customers. I promise you that. Small store, they do have some nice stuff. Don't judge a book by it's cover. I do not know why they were watching me in the store. I guess i don't dress accordingly. I wear BDU pants and I work for a living. I do not put on a show. Maybe they just used to snot nose folks that think they are better...
Read moreI've shopped at The Barnes Store for years, always a great experience. Today was a little different however. I came in need of a specific need. This week, as a community, we will lay to rest a well loved young man. Our friend loved all things faith, family, baseball, outdoors... and he loved him some hats. To honor his legacy, we all decended on the store to purchase a specific brand of hats. The staff was so loving and helpful in our time of need. As I made my purchase, the owner's daughter handed me a stack of hats to pass out to those who couldn't make it to the store. She wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of.
As I fought to collect what was left of myself. I thanked her and team, left, and lost it in the parking lot. It's acts of love like these that remind us to shop small, love our neighbors, and put community first always.
Thank you Barnes Family. We'll never forget...
