Philippe Medawar Fine Jewelers — Attraction in Cascade Charter Township

I cannot say enough positive words about Philippe and his team! When we moved back to MI we took our watches for service and my engagement ring, which was a family heirloom, for retipping. It was run of the mill work/repair (i.e. not expensive) and we were treated kindly and with respect and as if we were “VIP” customers.

A few years later, in 2023, after my father passed away, I brought my father’s Tag Heuer Link Chronograph Calibre 16 for repair. My father bought the watch in the mid 2000’s. He hadn’t had it serviced in the last few years. As he got weaker due to his cancer, he fell and the watch had some damage as a result. Philippe had to practically rebuild the watch! But he took such care and communicated with me as he repaired the watch. It’s an excellent timepiece but not luxurious, but for me, the sentimental value is priceless and Philippe treated it as if were a very expensive collector’s piece.

This fall, my husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We worked with Philippe to design a new ring for me. He incorporated the diamonds and gold in my original wedding band + new stones. It’s one of a kind! I get compliments all the time, but what I love the most is that my husband worked with Philippe to come up with a beautiful ring that includes/recycles my original wedding ring. And it’s 100% unique!

This is a long review but I hope to convey the expertise + kindness Philippe and his team provide. When I would be in for minor repairs of our watches and jewelry, Philippe and his wife would always ask how my father was doing, how are we doing, and listen, genuinely. They remembered our story. When I came in a few months after my father’s passing, with the watch to be repaired so I could wear it as a daily, I knew Philippe would understand the value and significance to me. And I felt like the work he did was in honor and respect for my father.

I’m so pleased and grateful for their expertise and creativity! We will continue to use Philippe for all our jewelry and watch needs...

I cannot tell you how many breathless compliments my wife has received on this ring. I've never seen its equal.

Some visitors may stop in at Philippe's store in Cascade, MI, expecting to find a typical inventory of retail jewelry and to speak with a salesperson. This was shared with a letter to Phillipe, and I thought I would share part of it online. March 7, 2019 Dear Phillipe, I can't begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed our friendship for the last 17 years. I met you because you fixed a Junghans watch for me and removed links so my watch, with my last name, fit better on me. I needed new batteries as well and you were the only person in the area that could fix a Junghans watch. I was so blessed, by God, to become friends with you and later your family. You couldn't possibly have a more beautiful family, inside and out. You have truly been a blessing to me and my children over the years. Thank you so much for treating all of us like family.

The ring you have made for me I will always wear. Incorporating my parents wedding bands into the design, including my birthstone, and making my Dad's cattle brand into a ring, is simply amazing. I can't even express how happy this has made me to finally have something that I will never take off.

I know that you being in my life has made me a strong Christian woman and your love for Christ shows in everything that you do. There just aren't enough men like you on this planet, unfortunately.

I have learned over the years to love everyone, regardless of who they are or what they do. I have learned to love ALL of God's children regardless of their faith. You have helped me tremendously learn and remember what my Dad, Fred, taught me while I was growing up. THANK YOU for that.

I will miss seeing you and your family as often as I have in the past, but this is by far not goodbye forever. I love you...
