I used to think this was a great place, the grounds are open year round so people can walk, walk there dogs, enjoy the trails in the wetlands area. Recently though I was chased off the property and told it was private property and I was trespassing. I have walked out there and skied for years and there was never a problem. Other people were out there and were not bothered. I inquired at the museum and was told it was private property but they want people to be able to enjoy the grounds. When I asked why I was removed they said well there must have been a good reason, but they couldn't give me one. They admitted they do not have a very good system for controlling people. I no longer feel comfortable going out there for fear of being accused of trespassing at random. I would be willing to pay a fee in exchange for a permit to be out there. Anything that I can shove under the nose of the jerk who made accusations and removed me from the property for no...
Read moreStorage - I hate to post a complaint like this because all the people working there seem like great folks, but feel the need too inform others. My issue: I dropped off a car for storage that just received a new re-built engine and ran perfectly when dropped off. When I picked up the car it would backfire and die, I just couldn't get it to run. After speaking with the guy who installed the engine and reviewing pictures taken of the engine prior to storage, the engine in the car now has a different engine number. Yes, the block number now is totally different, the engine now is from a 1973 not a 1968 plus there are other missing or different items see on the prior engine picture that are not on the engine now. The engine now has low compression on 2 of the 4 cylinders and is shot, I believe someone swapped out the engine during storage. What are my...
Read moreThis was our first visit to the Dakota County Fair. We had an amazing time! The kids all loved the historical village. We enjoyed seeing all of the animals. The arts and crafts and plants buildings were inspirational. Maybe we’ll enter something next year. Our favorite was the maple syrup cotton candy. We even got enough to take some home. We steered clear of the rides and food stands due to severe airborne peanut allergies. The historical village was far enough away that it wasn’t a problem. If you also have peanut allergies, be careful of the exhibition buildings nearest the food stands. There was a food vendor not too far away from them, which my kids caught early enough for us to...
