I have suffered a very poor experience here. I have been shopping at this Staples location for years. I often buy stationery, art supplies for my grandchildren, and printers and ink (to print pictures of my daughter, my grandchildren and my garden) and while my friends told me to go to the walmart I said no! I said I will go to the Staples in Chapel Hill. I said the employees treat me nice here. Well I was WRONG... They USED to treat a customer well here but NO LONGER!
When I went to checkout, a short bearded man with a wrinkled grey Staples shirt was on the till. The name on his badge read Trent. I asked for help carrying the Printer I was purchasing to the counter. This Trent only looked at me, yet he did not acquiesce to respond. I asked again for help... he rolled his eyes, and spoke into the radio connected to his ear. Shortly thereafter, a sprightly young employee appeared, and he carried the printer to the counter where it was scanned. I waited to be asked for my rewards card but the Trent did not ask for it. This is the reason why I shop at Staples! The rewards are essential to my journeys to this store. Finally after realizing he would not ask me for them, I inquired whether I might use my rewards. The Trent brusquely and angrily told me in a loud voice that the Rewards Card didn't matter and I should not ask about it again. I felt afraid and embarrassed but I did ask again and he grabbed my Rewards Card out of my hand with the utmost force and scanned it. Persistence is key! When he scanned my card, he asked if I was done but before I could respond he suddenly left. Shortly thereafter a pleasant young African American woman took over my transaction and completed it.
After the transaction was over I inquired whether I might have assistance carrying the printer to my car. The checkout girl who completed my transaction asked the manager, the Trent, who seemed to laugh at my request. I felt ashamed for asking for help. I asked again and finally a young man with a Blue Staples shirt came and helped take my printer to my car.
Overall, I believe the employees were generally helpful. And the printer works very well. The color is bright and I will be reprinting pictures of my family I have already printed with this new higher quality printer. Yet this manager the Trent - with the grey shirt and the slovenly unkempt appearance - was very difficult and rude. I have had fine experiences at this location in the past but this latest visit makes me...
Read moreA horrible place to print!!!! Have been Waiting for more than 40 minutes without anybody help me and have no idea why all the 3 to 4 self-print machines don't recognize my USB, and cannot print through email neither! Asked the guy in printer center to help, he did not, then he got a lady to come. The lady tried my USB on her computer and told me my USB does not work even though she saw the folder and files I need to print, but she could not print them. Then she took me to another computer and wanted me to figure out by myself. After I asked her to show me how to use their computer to access my email to get the file, after I got my file, she still did not know how to print them. Then she doubt my picture files are illegal to print. She wanted me to come back next morning to print it. She left. Anyway, after I sat there to try for more than half hour, actually that computer can print the file from my USB! So my picture file is legal to print and my USB is not broken as she said. I printed 24 pages of letter size, with 10 pages that were not the right paper or size I wanted, then it charges me more than $34.00 dollar even though the price is $0.99 cent per page!!! I have no idea they charge 37 cents per minute for using computer and nobody told me that neither!!! The worse thing is the manager, a short and thin ma, is horrible!!! He was not willing to return the charge of extra $11.00 of the computer time, which I should not use it if their self-print machine works, or if their people can help to use my USB to print! The manager has horrible and mean attitude! I said I will never come back there, he said "good, then we win...."!!! It sucks!!!!! Wasted lots of my previous time to print some color prints with very unhappy time to deal with their machine and their very unfriendly people! Never experienced such a bad time in such a horrible place with such bad attitude...
Read moreI went to Staples today to buy some ink, sheet protectors, and to ship a package with their UPS shipping service. I could not find the specific type of sheet protector in the store, and so I asked someone for help. He said that they may carry it online but no longer carry it in the store. I understood that, since the product I was looking for is not one that most people would usually buy anyways. Then I went to the ink section and they did not have a very great selection for the Brother ink. I found the one I was looking for and went to go check out. The cashier was very rude towards me and did not seem happy at all. Then, when I left, I forgot my ink on the counter and she said "do you want this?" in a condescending tone. I did not appreciate her behavior towards me.
Went up to the UPS shipping counter and waited forever before I went to go find someone who could help me. The people at the copy and ship counter saw me waiting there but nobody came over to help. When I finally did get help, the person was not very helpful and did not really seem to care about my package.
Went home to check and see if I could purchase my sheet protector product online, and it said that they had 8 in stock at that Staples store and that I could place the order online and go pick it up. I am frustrated because I have bought this exact same product from this store a few weeks ago, and even when I went to go pick it up after placing my order online, had to wait at least 15 minutes before I was helped.
I will no longer be returning to buy things in person from Staples, no matter how many coupons...
