I am very disappointed after my stay. I arrived at 3:45-4:00PM on a Friday, after an almost 3 hour drive. I was given my keys and information about local food and entertainment. I reserved a Junior Suite, corner room with a King size bed. I went to the room immediately and walked in on a couple in my assigned room (#427); thankfully they were sitting at the desk and lounge chair on their laptops. I apologized for the intrusion and went back to the front desk for a new room assignment and keys. The staff was very confused about why there were people in the room and questioned who they were, but apologized for the inconvenience. When the young man gave me my new keys, he told me that he upgraded my room to a large suite. While I appreciated the “upgrade”, I was very disappointed that I no longer had the corner room as I’m a very light sleeper. Had I been asked when he was making my new keys, I would have stayed in a corner room. Once unpacked and settled, I ordered room service and once again, I was extremely disappointed. I called room service to order a panini sandwich and fruit cup side, at 5:30PM they were out of the necessary ingredients. So I ordered a kids meal grilled cheese with fruit cup and a cesar salad. The salad was inedible, the lettuce was wilted and had so much dressing I only took one bite. The grilled cheese was acceptable but the fruit cup was definitely the star of the show. I assume the layout of the room necessitated the need to have the climate control system mounted in the ceiling above the bed. The vent was in the tray ceiling directly over the bed, every time it kicked on, I woke up. Around 3AM I tried to shut off the fan in hopes of getting to sleep, the best I was able to do was set the fan to “low”, which was still loud enough to wake me up every time it came on. Perhaps I would have slept a bit better had I not been thinking about the room & key issue I had upon my arrival. But every little noise, to include my neighbors enjoying their stay, I woke up panicking that someone had entered my room. The room wasn’t clean to my standards. I have a few photos to show the carelessness in the lack of attention to detail that I believe I should be able to expect from a hotel that advertises itself as a 4-star hotel. Two more small matters that were significant in conjunction with all the other problems encountered. The throw pillows on the couch were literally coming apart at the seams. Rather than removing the pillows entirely, the holes were on the bottom towards the back of the couch, as if it was an attempt to hide the tattered bits. Secondly, the only box of tissues was on the bathroom vanity, the first tissue I pulled out seemed damp. I was surprised by that, so I picked up the tissue box cover and discovered that the box was literally soaked all the way through and the tissues were as well. The overall cleanliness was shockingly poor and it felt as if the attempt to maintain a 4-star hotel completely missed the mark. Between the room/key mistake, the mismatched & degraded furnishings and decor, as well the poor quality of the room has left me over fatigued and dissatisfied with my entire experience.

One of the most amazing hotels that I have ever stayed in!! The decor is so beautiful and it truly makes you feel like you are in an Italian Villa. The staff is wonderful, Alix and all of the ladies and gents at the front desk took great care of us. The housekeeping staff was also so friendly when we passed them in the hallways. The room was amazing, clean and the entire hotel is immaculate. I love the marble shower and Juliette balcony. They offer a bar and restaurant downstairs, we did not try those amenities but heard great things. There is a nice sitting area in front of the hotel but because of the pollen levels, we chose not to sit out. A few extras: There are umbrellas for guest use at the lobby doors, they also have fresh fruit infused water available for guests in the afternoon, complimentary coffee available in the morning, extra towels, two robes and disinfecting wipes in the guest room. The Siena is a jewel in the heart of Chapel Hill and it's worth the experience if you pass through that area.

So glad to have stumbled upon this gem of a hotel during our first visit to Chapel Hill! According to my girlfriend who was born and raised in Raleigh, this hotel has been around for a long time, with an outstanding reputation for its fine dining restaurant on site. While we didn't have the opportunity to eat at the restaurant, we loved the beautiful room we booked, how soundly we slept, and the fun special amenities like a welcome glass of Prosecco or water, freshly baked cookies in the afternoon, AND--the free hotel shuttle service that takes you to and from within a 5 mile vicinity of the hotel. ||Huge shout-out to the two shuttle drivers I interacted with during the day--Shamael and the evening--Beau. Both were kind and hospitable as well as safe drivers and incredibly efficient! Definitely book your departing shuttle as soon as you know your schedule, and call about 10 minutes before you want to leave your venue. Both Shamael and Beau are incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and will give you the "real scoop" on neighborhoods or restaurants that you are thinking about visiting. Shamael saved our group one night by recommending a different neighborhood, and it ended up being an area we hung out at multiple evenings! Conversely, Beau was able to back-up our restaurant picks in the evening when he would drop us off for dinner. He had great knowledge of the area, chefs, restaurant owners, etc. ||The first night, we had after-dinner cocktails at the bar with Josh--great bartender who made our cocktails perfectly! We met a local at the bar who lives around the corner who gave us great recommendations around town--super friendly and awesome conversation, too! ||Also big shout out to Luis who was the late night bartender on Friday--even though he was closed for the evening he was willing to pour three rounds of shots for our group which was a perfect night cap to a fun night on the town. We also loved meeting Randy and Hannah at the Front Desk Friday night (and Randy again on Saturday night!)--they definitely embraced our late night silliness and provided the continued warmth and hospitality that you would hope for in a Southern hotel and Bonvoy property. We shared in some laughs and were delighted to see Randy again upon return home Saturday evening. ||I didn't catch the team's names who work during the day behind the desk, but the ladies and gentleman I interacted with were all incredible and hospitable--always willing to answer any question and also provide some additional plastic bags to carry our items in the pouring rain on our way to a party. (Hot tip: Shamael shared with us that if the weather forecast says even 1% of rain that it WILL rain and it will often rain 1-2 hours prior to the scheduled forecast...we tested this theory Saturday evening after he shared that with us--and it was correct!). So...definitely bring that umbrella and rain jacket if you are even on the fence about it!||Thank you again to the entire team at the Siena Hotel for helping to make our first visit to Chapel Hill so special and memorable. We look forward to visiting again soon--your hotel was truly a wonderful home...

Everyone on staff exhibited SUCH a high level of professionalism. Jimmy was very nice to help me carry in EVERYthing that i had in my car for my wedding. I told him upfront that I hadn't cash, and very little change for a tip. He was unphased, helped me pack the monstrous cart, got me to my room, and helped me unpack. None of the pretentious 'hang around with the hand out' until cash is produced.

I do not think that I exited the building once that the front door was not held open for me by a member of staff. Because I was preparing for my wedding, i was in-and-out many times, and had bridal party, hair/makeup techs and family to the hotel to meet in the lobby and go up to our suite. The suite provided plenty of room for attendants to relax and be 'done up' for the big day. Everyone commented on the unique decor of the lobby, how nice the suite, and how welcoming the staff. The suite was one of the cleanest and most well-kept rooms I've ever checked into at any price point, and the living plants in the room and around the property are a very nice touch.

The suite had a Juliet balcony which faced Franklin Street, but the property must have some serious sound-proofing, because I never noticed the din of traffic and sirens which is fairly constant in Chapel Hill. I checked in on LDOC (last day of classes), and other than the fireworks on campus that evening, I never noticed any sound from the revelers or the very busy street outside.

The left-hand elevator did seem to have died a slow death while I was there, and the one thing that did seem to need updating was the luggage cart. While the old-school rigs are gorgeous, they are very heavy and don't maneuver well, even for your able-bodied doormen. I'd rather see the heavy brass versions restored and worked into your decor -- while your employees enjoy something a measure sleeker more ergonomic that might also be more deft at handling around the hotel. Neither of these hand any negative impact on my stay.

The suite more than fulfilled our expectations and was an excellent value for the money considering the pricing, size, and appointments of similar accommodations at hotels in the...
