Unfortunately I’ve had my last bad experience with wine and design. Mel, while very nice, was not a great paint instructor. We scheduled for the paisley painting (cat or dog our choice) and we arrived to realize that there was one of each already selected for us. When we expressed that we both wanted to do the dog, we were told that would be fine and she could quickly draw another dog but that she would be painting the cat. What was the point of us both doing the dog or even being given the option if that’s not what was gonna be shown during instruction. We were the only two there for that particular painting and then there was a couple doing their own freestyle painting. The class overall felt like everyone was just doing their own thing because nobody was painting the same thing except my partner and I. There was no detail about how to go back and add any designs besides the very last step with the dots which I didn’t even bother to do because I was so unhappy with the lack of instruction that I just painted my circles and called it a day. There was even a time where she pretty much demanded us to get up and look at each others work and I didn’t get up because I was So embarrassed about my painting and I wasn’t anywhere close to being “done”. Neither of our paintings looked like the original or the artists, and to make things worse we were given an “almost time” reminder and it was acknowledged that nobody in the class was anywhere close to being done. Two different locations and I have been unhappy with both of my paintings both times. I appreciate her trying to keep the conversation going but there was way more banter about our(her) personal lives than the painting and it clearly showed. I really wish I could’ve left a better review but I had...
Read moreI actually had a great time with two of my friends and enjoyed painting.... BUT one of our friends could not make it and after trying to contact the owner, Roslyn, all day over the phone she finally did not even have the decency to call me but she emailed me that we could not get a refund or reschedule to another day... even though the website says you can get a refund with at least 24 hours notice and a credit if you cancel with 24 hours or less of notice. Then, I had to email her and call her two more times to even get to finally talk to her about this. I will give her credit that she (albeit hesitantly) refunded the money for our friend who could not make it. However, after doing so, she proceeded to tell me that it was my fault and that, "you just want your money back!" In my opinion the owner of this business should NOT own a business!! You can go here, and you will have a good time, but if you happen to have a problem or emergency, you will get no sympathy or kindness from the owner. I will not be going back because of this. I DON'T LIKE...
Read moreMy sister and I had a terrific time at the Open Studio Night yesterday! LaShayla was a wonderful guide as we spent just over two hours painting alongside a group of other folks. She was very knowledgeable, patient, and kind, and she had some truly great ideas for how we could achieve the look we wanted our individual paintings to have. It was so fun and relaxing to get our creative juices flowing, and LaShayla ensured that everyone had a good time. We appreciated her so much—she definitely made our rare sister outing...
