I shopped this Goodwill online and bought a pair of authentic Chloe sunglasses. In total I paid over $100 for these sunglasses, which I was quite excited about. The photos showed the glasses in very good, if not great condition. When the sunglasses arrived, I immediately opened the package only to find that they were missing the screws to the arms so essentially the sunglasses arrived defective/damaged. They are not wearable, let alone useable. I immediately reported this to them. I sent them many photos, gave them all the information I could and offered to send the sunglasses back. I have no reason to keep damaged sunglasses. I wanted to be helpful. It took them over ten days to make a decision. They say that the security camera footage shows them in perfect condition and also said the screws can only be removed with a tool aka accusing me of removing them. I have absolutely no reason to lie. I offered to send the sunglasses back. They then also tried to blame this on Fedex but the package arrived in perfect condition so this is not on Fedex. All I know is that I paid over $100 for broken sunglasses that will only be useable if I pay more money to have them fixed. I have spent thousands of dollars shopping Goodwill online. In that time I have only had to deal with a damaged item one other time, and they are incredibly apologetic and easy to deal with. I am sorely disappointed in this Goodwill and their customer service. I do not recommend shopping with them in person or online and wish you luck if you have to deal with their customer service.

You would think that you could trust a Goodwill, but you definitely cannot. I bought an Amazon Kindle e-reader from this Goodwill through eBay. It said that it had been tested, that it powered on, and that it was factory reset. NONE of that was true. Not only would it not power on, the charging cord won't even stay in it to charge it. They did not test that before they listed it, and they did not test it before they shipped it. I haven't shopped at a brick of mortar Goodwill in years because of the ridiculous prices, but now I know to stay far, FAR away from every Goodwill that is out there. I can definitely find better deals at small private owned thrift shops than through a Goodwill. These people won't even respond to my message about this Kindle. I'm just going to chalk it up as a loss, it's not worth even trying to return it. Thank you Goodwill for confirming my bad opinion about you!

They can't keep their word and these dopes can't do math either. To quote a dummy: "Our location ships out within 5 business days of payment.

Therefore, since you paid on 3/23, your order will ship out by 3/29 at the latest.

You will receive a tracking number for your order once this ships out.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions."

That's from official correspondence with the spokes-dope at this location. Within 5 business days of the 23 was today.

When malicious compliance is cross hybridized with stupidity, and perhaps a bit of regionalism-which-I-dare-not-mistake-for-bigotry, the result is Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont.

Update (3/30/2022):

Story changed again!

Now it's:

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but this item is no longer available. This was relisted by mistake.

We have issued you a refund for the full amount you paid.

Again, we apologize for this error. We hope that you would consider letting us earn your business back by trusting us enough to purchase another item in the future.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with. Thank you for supporting Goodwill and have a great day!"

So when you do business with these scumbags, keep in mind they are stealing your items and then claiming it's 'not available.'

They accepted my money and then only afterward said 'it wasn't available' and that was only after I'd complained.

These are criminal...

I've been going to Goodwill Industries almost since its inception. Whether it's for counseling or medical care at CCHC (Charlotte Community Health Clinic). Or CCT (Center for Community Transitions), which i attended and completed prior to their moving here. Or even purchasing clothes and books at their secondhand store. I even enrolled in their jobs program. Unfortunately, I'm still recovering from multiple surgeries and as of yet, I'm still unable too take advantage of all the fantastic programs that they have too offer. If you need assistance with anything; be it counseling, medical, dental, jobs or job training. This is the place to go. Whether you're underemployed, unemployed, a veteran, homeless or have a colorful past, there are programs and people here waiting to assist you. All you have to do is make the effort and they will assist you in anyway possible. This is the only place of it's kind that i know of where all of your needs can be met in one place. If you need a job, they will train you and pay you at the same time. Don't say what you can't do. What are you willing to do?. If you took the time to read this post, please take a 1/2 second to click...
