As we were arriving at 11am they were extremely busy. I asked if there were any disabled parking spots and I was told "I don't know, drive there and see yourself". When I finally parked, I had to WALK about 1/4 mile to the entrance. Having a disability makes this a horrible task. We had an ok time there. I went on one of the slides where you go without a tube. It was #3. I started down but there was not enough water and I kept getting stuck. They let the next person go before I finished and she crashed into me hurting me and herself. They did not properly manage how that ride was working. When we went to go get soft serve ice cream it was great but my wife ordered chocolate. The other teller kept telling everyone is was in the process of being made buy my teller handed me a bowl with melted Ice cream. Literally a bowl of chocolate Milk. I was super confused and asked for different flavor immediately for my wife. The last thing was about closing time. There are 15 of us and a baby. We were packing up well before 7. At 7 they reminded us to hurry. At 7:02 the guy came back to babysit us while we put things away. We were 6 minutes past when the closing and the guys started yelling at us. At this point we were alreadalready q q77⁷7⁷⁸y walking down. I felt terrible. I thought we were the last people in the park. Nope! There were about 50 people still getting ready on the level by the exit. I understand not wanting to stay late at a job, but yelling at us while there were 50+ people (one was ordering food still) is absurd. One final thing. They made us park i. The surplus lot which is fine. There are no disabled parking spots though AND they closed the nearest exit so we had to walk all the way around. Not easy with a disability that effects my walking.
SLIDEWATERS IS OUR FAVORITE WATERPARK BUT THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
I hope this was a one time thing because no one deserves being yelled at twice, paying $50 for melted Ice cream and most importantly I WAS INJURED and so was...
Read moreWater slides were great, but the food from the kitchen was an absolute disaster, borderline should be shut down, actually should be fined and closed for a week as a lesson. Backstory: got in line, maybe 8 people in front of us. 42 minutes later was at the front of the line at the window to order. Ordered 2 burger basket specials at $18.99 each. Comes with a pop. They are OUT of Diet Pepsi. I'm sorry, what? Whatever. Lots of kids "working" in back, I counted 5, but mostly just clowning around, joking, having the times of their lives while we patiently wait for our food. The Kitchen is huge, btw, but they have a dinky little grill area about the size of my Blackstone. I watched as they would cook 6 burgers on one side and bacon on the other side. Not efficient, as the "cook" was bouncing around and would make one burger, then fiddle around with something else, like the by now cold fries sitting on the counter waiting to be paired with the burgers, then repeat the process, etc. No idea what the other 4 workers were doing. The kid at the register kept taking money, then would turn around and mess with the fries, then take a drink of his pop, then turn around again, go in the back, goof around some more and then come back out. Also watched multiple people in the back eating, playing grab ass with the female lifeguards, etc. It was a complete cluster, witnessed by all in line, as we were stuck there watching the whole thing with nothing to do. They finally bring out 2 burger baskets and hand them to the girl next to us, problem is she ordered after us and I watched as she paid AFTER they handed the food to her. It was crazy. I'm mostly bothered by all the eating and drinking IN the kitchen while working and preparing our food. I'm no health inspector, but that's just wrong. Not to mention incredibly inefficient. Come on Slidewaters, you can do better. That kitchen should be pumping out product and to wait almost an hour for 2 burger baskets...
Read moreHUGE SAFETY ISSUES. Should be 0 stars and closed to the public until safety measures are improved. I tried 3 slides and each of them left me even more scared: first one Thunder rapids I almost tripped over the slide of the slide when other tubes hit mine at the congestions which are several there. At the last congestion there were 5 people crumpet together hitting each other on the tubes and 2 of them fell off the tubes. At the same time more people were sent down the slide by the crew. #2 Corkscrew I was constantly slowing down and scared that I would be hit by the next rider. That happened on the slide #3 Blue blaster - the next person almost hit us in the back before we could exit the slide (I was riding with my son) but we were lucky enough that person saw us on time and was able to pull her legs to the side. I got really scared as the same thing happened to me over 20 years ago in another aquapark in Turkey and I almost broke my spine (was several days on bed rest and in big pain). Never ever I thought that safety measures in an US Park can be the same bad... After talking to the crew and the park manager I was made aware that their sensors that track people proceeding slides are glitching due to the heat and they often get people stuck on the slides?? So they know about the issue and still allow people to use the slides! Unbelievable. No one actually is looking for the riders to exit slides before the next person is taking a ride - instead they rely on glitchy sensors. I would suggest avoiding this park until every slide exit is supervised by a crew member. Beside safety (that now feels not as important to me): small and overcrowded even on Tuesday. The changing room and showers at the entrance are very basic - no warm water, no soap in the showers. The newer part is more inviting though (but you have to climb all the way up to the surf side of the park to take a...
