Cherry Valley Trails has two trailheads: one is located at the end of Cleveland Ave., two blocks from Church Road, and the other is at the end of Briar Lane, next to the softball field at the Cherry Valley recreation playground. Parking is along the street at both locations. The Cherry Valley Trails offer .75 miles of beautiful, easy trails that serpentine through woods often bordering the Pennsauken Creek, and through a scrub-shrub meadow by way of two color-coded trails on 10 acres. Apart from the interesting features of the forest, 100 year old trees, (American Beech and Red Oak), over sixty species of birds, woodchucks, fox, squirrels, rabbits, turkey, and deer that trail users will encounter; a unique highlight is the Cherry Valley Trails Pollinator Garden. This garden is located by the Cleveland Ave trailhead and was started in 2015 by CHEB from an area mowed like a lawn. With care, it has grown into a thick bed of native flowers that attract birds, bees and other pollinators from early spring until late fall. Beebalm and daisies are just two of the many flowering plant species that abound. Three species of milkweed have been planted to help the struggling Monarch butterfly population. The CVT Pollinator Garden is a certified Monarch Waystation and a photographer’s delight.
