Cherry Valley Public Library District — Attraction in Cherry Valley Township

I spent nearly an entire day here one Saturday on the computer. I decided to charge my iPhone nearby while on the Internet at the desktop. This library is closed on Sundays during the summer season. So, the following day I realized my iPhone charger was missing. Then it dawned on me that I had left it at the library. I had left the library yesterday right before closing. I was probably the last patron to leave. No worries, this library is usually slow. I returned to the Cherry Valley library first thing following Monday morning as soon as they opened. I figured my charger would still be tucked in snug, behind the long, built-in computer desk countertop. I was so surprised to discover it was missing. So I inquired with the front desk and the young lady said she couldn't find it anywhere, and she checked both lost and founds. She seemed nervous by my concern and interest in recovering my iPhone charger. A short while later, I realized that no library patrons were remaining in the library when I left Sat. evening before it closed. Hence, perhaps with security camera assistance, one of the library staff members had to of taken it. Apparently, Cherry Valley has fallen into economic hardship. Maybe one or more of the young libraries feel that they are entitled to free iPhone chargers, for one...

First thing I did when I moved out here was get a library card and that was 20 years ago! Always have loved this library and surprisingly large selection of books. The only thing I truly miss are the homeschool classes they would offer and the awesome craft nights for the kids. Both my kids loved doing those craft nights as preschoolers but once covid hit the library stopped offering that and homeschool days. They now offer video game and movie nights but I try not to encourage additional screen time so it's a rare...

This place is always so comforting, it feels like an escape from my issues whenever I am here. It reminds me of home I think.
