Food Lion — Attraction in Chesapeake

I do quite a bit of shopping with a family of 8. This food lion is by far the best in the area. Terry the manager is always pleasant and helpful no matter what we ask him. James in the deli is great, he always knows what and how we like our items cooked. I try to stick with the same cashier or 2, because not everyone is as great as the other. Everything in the store is neat and organized, I see the guys going around wiping down all the handles of the freezer doors. My only complaint is how rude the guys are that clean the floors, but it seems to be the case with other food lions as well. I'm not sure why you wouldnt do it when the store is closed. This is a solid grocery store. The prices compared to other local grocery stores is slightly less on meats and about the same on everything else. Quality of this store is pretty good. I did notice one time that all the tostitos cheese dips were expired. I always check expiration dates to be safe.

I think this store lacks in its variety of offerings. For example they offer sea food, but it is not fresh and seems to be prepackaged and resold. All other meats are good quality.

Not so positive of an experience here today. After I finished shopping I went to the register that had the light on and the guy just left without saying anything to get carts. The blonde lady that was supposed to be attending the register didn’t say anything until i said anything, she was helping another customer at the service desk. Then i asked her if she can try to bag everything because I’m going up flights of stairs & she left everything that I wanted bagged out & I had to bag it myself. Very useless an unpleasant...
