This was a very cool place to visit. Loved the art work and picture shop where yoy get your tickets. The young lady in the front was super chill, and let us look around in peace. The Old School toy and trinkets building was great. Theres about 4 rooms, and an upstairs portion with tons of stuff to look at reminense on. Has a crazy crazy nostalgia factor, however...the male employee working there didn't really give us ANY time by ourselves to enjoy the place as a couple. He was a nice guy but, he was like Velcro breathing down our neck the ENTIRE time we were there and didnt give us ANY moments to feel comfortable. Me and my girlfriend wanted to say something but, didnt want to be rude. We cut our stay time in half due to this uncomforatble feeling. I understand that it was a very quiet weekday when we went and it probably gets lonely there but, after introductions, an explanation of the Museum, and about 5 minutes of chit chat...just let the guest do their thing. Not sure if this "breathe down the guest neck" thing is part of some sort of "anti theft" procedure but, boy was this bothersome. The only part of this experience that took away a star. Other than that, cool place to visit on a...
Read moreIf you are an adult looking for a touch of childhood nostalgia, this is the place to check out. If you are a child who enjoys cartoons, new and old, this is the place to check out. We visited on a week day and there was no wait. The price of $5.00 can't be beat either. There is a gift shop selling mainly paintings of various cartoons. That alone is a great place to look around. The main museum is two levels but on this trip, we only spent time on the lower level. We were there an hour and I could have spent a lot more time. Such a walk down memory lane! I saw toys I used to have as a kid (my Donny Osmond doll, the Welcome Back Kotter coloring book), games I never knew existed, lunchboxes for every known cartoon in existence. I'm not certain how ADA compliant they are, as I did not see any ramps nor do I know if there is an elevator to the second floor. Space is tight for even a small stroller. It would be great if this place could expand in the future because they offer so much to see. It was an enjoyable time for me...
Read moreThis is the toy collection of a local and it's a nice 1-2 hour visit. It's best case scenario for a person with an oversized collection of toys... turn it into a museum. The building facing Rt 10 is where you buy your ticket and peruse really great purchasable artwork and a few toys. Next you move to the large building next door (not the offices next to the parking lot). As you walk in, you're usually greeted and given the rundown, then allowed to explore. If you like scavenger hunts, there are 2 versions you can try. There are 2 floors, but I didn't see an elevator. Toys are organized into display cases and they're floor to ceiling! It will be a blast from the past for adults. Kids might not be impressed or want to stay as long. The building does have a musty scent to it, which was a downfall for me and my allergies. Before you go back to your car, you can spend time posing with some of the painted wooden yard displays. Hours on their website are the most accurate as they...
