We found CotK Sacramento recently through the CREC directory and it is the best Christian community I have ever been apart of. There are many things that stood out, but here’s the things that impacted our experience the most:
Communion: As with many reformed churches they do communion weekly, but they actually use wine glasses which provides a substance to communion that I’ve rarely seen in churches.
Fellowship: Every week there is a fellowship meal after the service where church announcements are made, the sermon is discussed, and newcomers are welcomed. After this there is usually another meal at one of the members house’s where people attend at their leisure and dive deep into each others lives and theology.
Vision: CotK seems to be growing rapidly and it seems to be because of the vision and passion the people have for God and carrying out His will on earth. As most churches seem to be watering down the scriptures and getting soft this church seems to only dig down further into the word and recovering a historical view of the church. We’ll see if they get around to building a cathedral lol.
Anyways, this is a place where we can see ourselves raising our family and helping build a community of believers. If you are ever in the Sacramento area come check it out...
Read moreI moved to Roseville from Redding last October, and when I found COTK, I knew this was home. I've been attending for 10 months and have never found a church who fellowships NEARLY as much as COTK. Every other church I've been a part of closes doors once the service is over, or maybe after coffee and donuts, then everyone is left to figure out how to worship the Lord and fellowship for the rest of the day on their own. But with COTK, immediately after service, they have a potluck. Then, sometimes mens and womens' classes. Then, fellowship the entire afternoon and night, including ANOTHER potluck. Pastor Paul and Pastor Stoos have been very open to any theological questions I might have, and even encourage it on Sundays where they have a Q&A session about the sermon after every service.
You will not feel invisible here, someone will always make sure to notice and welcome visitors. When I first started visiting, I was very welcomed. I can't recommend...
