Steamer 10 Theatre — Attraction in City of Albany

Another fun find in the Capital District. A small gem of a theater located in this lovely old church building. Seating was very comfortable, as well as the ambiance and of course the people on stage and in the audience and at the front of house were all what you would expect from a small local theater, just precious and amazing.

There are two bathrooms, so not a long wait. The show we saw had no intermission and was about 1 hour and 45 minutes run time, and I have to be honest. I was a little worried about that but the show was so great that about 45 minutes in I lost all track of time.

Can't wait to come back again. The show we saw was actually a separate theater company that was using the space, but I'm really interested to see what steamer 10 brings for the future.

Steamer 10 is a lil gem with a lot of talent, hidden in a strange part of Albany that people don't seem to know much about. It's tucked away inside an old church, and consistently shows edgy, strange, and different shows. Comfortable seats, intimate setting. Friendly staff excited to still be in business after three decades. Bit of a hidden gem. Brick exterior entrance brilliantly designed with a "drawbridge" entrance to the bare bones interior entrance that might simultaneously be called the lobby, and set construction workshop.
