This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Six of us ordered drinks and asked a couple of questions about the menu, as we weren't familiar with a couple of items. We asked about the pizza and were told they don't have pizza tonight. Okay. We asked about the tacos and were told they don't have tacos. We told her we'd need a few minutes.
We waited forever for a waitress to come back and take our food order. Finally, a different waitress came out to do it. (Eventually, well after we had ordered, the original waitress came out to take our food order.) I ordered Egyptian Koshari and was told they don't have that tonight. At that point, I asked her to tell me what they DO have. She said they have everything else, and I told her they did not, as they don't have the pizza or tacos. News to her.
Three of us ordered hot chocolate, which was barely warm and VERY tiny.
I ordered Chicken Shawarma ($12.99), which I'd read was slowly roasted chicken, thinly sliced/shaved and served in a pita with various things, much like a gyro. Pictures online depict appetizing-looking wraps with colorful vegetables and chicken, often with some kind of sauce dripped over it.
We were told our food would be ready in about 30 minutes, which seemed an awfully long time. Two other guests with our party ordered the Chicken Shawarma meal, which included french fries, for $17.99.
My daughter ordered spaghetti and meatballs, because they didn't have tacos. And the final two guests ordered Chicken Over Rice and Waffles.
About ten minutes later, the two orders of Chicken Shawarma (with the fries) came out. They waited a few minutes before eating, to be polite, until we told them to just go ahead, because we assumed our food would be coming right behind theirs.
They finished their dinners, and the other four of us were still waiting. Finally, the spaghetti and meatballs came out, as did the waffles.
The spaghetti was 'okay.' Fat, overdone spaghetti with acceptable sauce. The meatballs, though... My daughter cut one open to find what was probably onions, but what looked like white wormy things all through them. They tasted like onions, so we'll assume they were, but they were wormlike. The meatballs were awful!
One of our party tried to cut into her waffles, which looked pretty good, with whipped cream and drizzled chocolate sauce. She was unable to cut through them with her plasticware. They were hard as rocks and completely inedible. Clearly, they microwaved them. You can't microwave waffles. And, they appeared to be Eggo waffles. They were returned and removed from our bill. Instead, she ordered mozzarella sticks.
The last person hadn't yet gotten her meal, so her mother asked the waitress about it, at which point we were told they had to cook the rice, and it was going to take about an hour! We were all dumbfounded. First, because her meal was going to take an hour and, secondly, because no one told her! Had she not asked, who knows how long she'd be waiting. She ordered something else.
I got a crispy tube of sandwich wrap (not a pita), closed at both ends and just plopped on my plate and burnt on one side. Didn't cut it in half or otherwise dress it up a bit. Inside, from what I could see, were some chunks of breaded chicken (not thinly sliced) and wilted lettuce. No other ingredients, no sauce, no veggies. Nothing. $13!
No one came to our table to ask how everything was. No one came to refill our drinks. I got up and went to the bar at the theater, to have our waters refilled, myself.
After four of us were done eating, the other two were still waiting for their food. We went for trivia night, which is 90 minutes long. In 90 minutes, they couldn't produce the other two meals, so we cancelled the orders, and left when trivia was over. They screwed up my bill, so didn't get paid for our drinks at all. And, honestly, I didn't care. I left a 10% tips, which was far too much!
There is absolutely no way any of the reviews on here, saying the food and service were great, are real. It's just not possible. DO...
Read moreNice enough place for somewhere close to where I live, but needs improvement in a few areas.
Food was quite good; had the burger and fries, and for what I paid enjoyed the meal a lot. Crippling lack of soft drinks; I get it's a cafe, but I don't want to have tea or coffee alongside my cheeseburger. Adorded the strawberry juice and was delivered a smoothie. Which was tasty but not what I ordered. A few more soft drinks to round out the menu might help.
Service was ok. The guy who brought the meal was friendly and seemed like a nice guy, so I feel bad for criticizing him, but he was a bit too casual for the face of your business. Dressed in what I assume were street clothes, mumbled rather than spoke, and never introduced himself. He dropped the menu on the table and left til I called him back to order, and once it was delivered he sat behind the desk and played loud music on his cell phone. I don't mind someone wanting to take a break when business is slow but I also don't want to listen to someone else's YouTube playlist while I eat.
Place is nice, glad to have somewhere affordable so close to my house, but I think it needs a lot of tuning up to last....
Read moreI had an amazing dining experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting—perfect for a relaxed evening out. We were greeted by the boss Ali, and The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.
We started with the Mozzarella Sticks which was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. For the main course, I had the Chicken Shawarma Meal and it was absolutely delicious. The sauce was beautiful and the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the portion size was just right.
The bar was also impressive, every drink was perfect, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal.
Overall,I loved it here. It is a true gem. The quality of the food, the service, and the atmosphere make it a standout spot in the area. I can't wait...
