Black Diamond Nail & Spa — Attraction in City of Glen Cove

My mother and I have been long time repeat customers of Black Diamond Nail and Spa (ever since they opened) because the prices were right. I had the worst experience there today. I showed up about 10 mins late for my appointment, which I understand is problematic during COVID times, and upon my arrival, I was immediately yelled at by the owner, even though we had spoken on the phone that I would be there shortly. I had explained that I had a patient emergency call just before my appointment and apologized profusely for being late, and in a rude, raised tone, the owner’s response was “I don’t care. It doesn’t matter. You can’t be late for your appointment. It’s not allowed to happen again!” I was shocked at this response as if a nail appointment takes precedent over an emergency. This could’ve been handled in a professional manner explaining their late policy. Instead, I was met with a raised voice and reprimand in an extremely disrespectful manner. I had a manicure and pedicure scheduled, but since I was 10 mins late, I offered to forgo my pedicure. I received no response besides the employees talking amongst themselves, and did not get my scheduled pedicure. Nothing was ever said to me about this. I was just ignored. My manicure nails were done unevenly (the worst I’ve ever experienced at this salon because of employee pettiness.) I am so disappointed in Black Diamond Nail and Spa. I would not recommend anyone to come here unless you’re looking to be yelled at in an underwhelming and untidy establishment who will seat someone directly next to you with no barrier during a global pandemic. 0/10 review for Black Diamond Nail and Spa. So sad to see this when I always love to support local businesses. Respect for customers goes a long way, none of which can be found...

Yesterday I went for a pedicure spa & powder gel, they charged me $5 extra to remove the acrylic from my nails, which takes the same procedure as removing the podwer gel. I had previously gone and paid $2 for each design nail, this time they charged me an extra $15 for 4 fingernails (just glitter), and $8 for 2 toenails (desing), an extra $5 for 2 extensions on 2 fingernails that had been broken. I have visited this nail salon about 4 or 5 times, and only once has it met all my expectations and workers do not treat all customers equally, I am not a fussy or complaining person.

I came here from a. simple google search because i was in the area and needed a manicure. One thing to note is they don’t do acrylic tips here they only do powder tips. Ive never done powder tips before so i was skeptical but got them done anyway. Lin did my nails and she did such an amazing job, she’s friendly and will do as you ask. I appreciate having her as a nail tech. It was the best experience since I am picky with my nails and she did a great job.

Make sure you bring a mask they require all customers to wear one.
