The first of 5 falls along Falls Creek. The pedestrian footbridge near visitor’s center traverses the Beebe Lake dam and reveals a series of step cascades that lead down to the actual falls. Unfortunately one can not view Triphammer Falls from this bridge but the series of cascading steps and it funneling down to a central spillway is quite interesting. The best viewing platform for this falls is from sidewalk along Thurston Ave bridge.

We were visiting the area from out of town and spent an afternoon checking out the falls right in town. A local was kind enough to give us directions and said the falls weren't much today, but we enjoyed them. I thought maybe she meant they were just a trickle, but they were better than that.

The building is now collapsed so it isn't as cool looking, but still beautiful looking. One fall is down the steps near campus and the other one with the collapsed building you can see by looking down on it from the bridge near campus. Parking is wonky because it has to be on campus.

What an absolute treasure of a place! I had heard people talk about how beautiful this waterfall is, but nothing really prepares you for the first moment you lay eyes on it. The journey to get there is half the fun: a winding trail through tall trees, the ground covered in leaves, and the sound of rushing water getting louder with every step. You can feel your anticipation building until suddenly you round a corner and there it is—tall, powerful, and absolutely majestic.

The water seems to fall endlessly, hitting the rocks below with an energy that is both powerful and calming at the same time. I loved how the mist created little rainbows when the sunlight broke through the trees—absolutely magical! The whole atmosphere feels untouched, pure, and far away from the chaos...

Unlike most other falls in the nearby area, triphammer falls does not offer a great view for a tourist. However, that does not mean there is reason to skip it. The fall creates a deep gorge and is still beautiful. And the point of origin is a pool of water, much like a small lake. Rocks are dramatic and add to the overall natural charm to the place. Do not miss it as part of your overall waterfall hopping experience in Ithaca. Limited parking and the best view is actually from a nearby...
