I visited this place as a 2nd option since they had the printing paper in stock and able and willing to do the job… Like I said I came here as a 2nd option the 1st option made it very challenging as it is and end up here… because lack of inventory.
Upon my arrival by 4:42 pm on Thursday October 12th since they didn't want to accept my payment over the over the phone earlier that day… they forced me to come in person from Larchmont, NY in order to proceed with this order. By 5:33 pm finally got a chance to speak to someone after me having to raised my voice in order to get their attention.
The gentleman after attending to my needs and the situation on hand offered to have it printed within 20 minutes which I was unable to wait for it since I have to attend my 2nd job and need it to be in Scarsdale by no later than 6:15 pm. I asked the representative if they can have it ready for tomorrow morning by 8:30 am and he said “Yes!”
Now it’s Friday October 13, a little after 9 am since I dropped off my kids a bit late in school that morning and to my surprise this incompetent employee is informing me that my order is set to be ready by 6 pm and not that morning… and wanting to charge me 30% of surcharge in order to expedite my order (remind you! Just yesterday they were willing and able to print while I wait). Can you understand the level of frustration? This is just label sheets to be printed in black and white, nothing complicated or challenging for a printing company to have ready to go…
After arriving to my retail store, I called the customer services hot line and same results! No product on hand with excuses on hands… very sad to see minority take advantage of their position in order to give BAD customer service and force individuals like myself to have to go through this process and shame on Staples for not having a stronger supervising power in this matter, my situation is a true meaning of customer service for a small business and definitely falling short on this service, when it comes to printing!
This experience falls on the customer service department from Staples, and the entire lack of management in this current store of “Mt. Read moreI was just at this location today. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! I will say however, the person who helped me on the floor was amazing. I wish I remembered his name. He was super patient and he tried to make sure I got the best deal possible. I went in to buy a printer. I initially decided to purchase a HP printer they had on sale for $69.99. Turns out they didn't have it in stock. The next HP printer was $79.99 and it turns out it didn't have good reviews when I looked it up. I finally went with a $99.99 Brother Printer. The floor person told me to download the app so I could get 30% in points. It wouldn't take anything off the price in house, but it would help me in the long run. I also was purchasing the $30 3 year warranty and the the four pack of ink for about $38. This printer doesn't use the traditional color and black cartridges. The color ink is like 3 different colors. Fine. Final price, over $180. While I was walking to the front he told me Staples over 20 percent off for teachers. I created a new account but I was having difficulty finding the 20% off coupon that they said should be under coupons on my newly activated account. All I would have to do is show my work ID with the coupon to the cashier. After 20 mins with no luck, I asked the cashier if she could call the manger to honor the 20% with my ID alone. She told the manager something along the lines of, "She said she's not buying it without the discount." Obviously that's not what I said but I thought to myself maybe she knows that's what she has to say to him to get a response." He immediately responded, because she's talking into a piece clipped to her chest in her ear, and according to her he said I need to have the coupon. For me, I thought that was ridiculous. Though I thought it was ridiculous I wasn't necessarily upset by that response. Maybe it helps get people to download the app or something. I felt like I was being dismissed and not like a valued customer or someone getting ready to drop almost $200 in your establishment. In the end, You lost $180 over a technicality. At the very least, I thought he should have come and seen if he could have helped me find the coupon. So of course, I left the things and purchased them on Amazon, for about 20% less. CRAZY! In total I paid about $150. Printer, warranty, and ink. And they've lost me as a customer. They need to hire better people who care about the store's revenue. That's why it was a ghost...
