🧘‍♀️the water was a bit scary to get in due to the color, but I was fine after 1 minute in...was the most relaxed I've been in years. muscle and joint pain gone for days. the mineral water has many many health benefits. I've lived by this gem all my life and cannot believe it's taken this long to go. i could do this at least one time a month 😌 psa the tub was not dirty, the mineral build-up causes tile to stain. these tubs are from the 1930s 🛁 #rooseveltbathsandspa #rooseveltbaths #saratoga #saratogasprings #518 #518great #saratogaspringsny #relaxation #therapy #spaday #selfcare #spring #mineralwater #mineralbath #mineralbaths #mineralwater #lincolnbaths

I am going to give this a two star and both of those stars would go to the massage therapist. He was absolutely amazing I don’t remember the gentleman‘s name but he had a French accent I believe and was absolutely wonderful. The mineral water itself was a wonderful experience as well and I definitely enjoyed it; however, there was so much lacking in this experience. The ambience absolutely did not exist here. I would say 3/4 of what I was looking for is atmosphere! The relaxation room was lacking in so many ways. It was not dim lighting it was very bright and invasive. The furniture was very dated and seemed more like patio furniture than something that should be in a relaxation room. The fireplace looks like a $59 Walmart special, the waterfall was broken And tea and water were served out of paper cups. I had only one service which was a massage along with my mineral bath soak for myself and my husband and we paid well over $300. When a person spends that kind of money they at least expect their moneys worth. As I said the mineral bath itself was wonderful but the tub you soak in was nothing to speak of... although I had a nice massage I would have to say I would never choose to go back here again. Perhaps under new ownership after the place has had a complete makeover but absolutely not under the current accommodations . When I relayed my experience and the fact that it was my birthday and that I was hoping for much more I basically got a pat on the back - the typical “sorry to hear that”....The girls at the counter agreed that there was much lacking and that they were hoping for a makeover or a facelift on the relaxation room. It was at that time they relayed to me that just this morning the waterfall broke! When I called to make reservations i had asked specific questions about ambience and waterfall and dim lighting and nice music in the background and they assured me this was the place for that! If you’re looking for a very old, asylum feeling and cold... this is definitely the place to go. If you’re looking for a warm cozy and romantic… Keep...

The staff was nice and pleasant but extremely poor communication between the staff and also spa director. Me and my family booked two separate services. First for my father and sister to do 20 minutes sauna and 40 minutes mineral bath at 10:45, and then me and my mother came back to do our 20 minute sauna and 40 minute mineral bath at 2:45. First they had messed up a charge with my father’s services and initially offered a 10% discount. When we came back to pay for his and my sisters services, the staff at the front desk informed us she had spoken to her boss, the spa director and said she can no longer offer any discount at all. Then when me and my mom came back to do our service at 2:45, we were told at the front desk to wait in the relaxation room until a representative came to get us for our sauna first. Mind you we came 15 minutes early as we were told to do. We were waiting until 3:10 until my mother had to go herself to the front desk and ask why nobody came to get us for the sauna. By the time we got to the sauna we only had 10 minutes, not 20 to enjoy it before our mineral baths. Sauna was also very small. We went back to the relaxation room after sauna and finally a representative came and explained our mineral baths and took us to our separate rooms. No discount or anything was offered for the errors made. Very disappointing and we felt short changed for the services we paid for. Mineral baths were good but nothing special in my opinion. Only good thing was the staff were pleasant and explained the history of the spa. I blame the spa director for not being more communicative and hospitable as he was nowhere to be found and did not come out to speak to us after we told the staff what was going on. Not thrilled. If you want history and a cool historical experience then this place is for you, if you want services go...

Firstly, don't listen to the people complaining about the mineral water color. Depending on the mineral content it can take on various colors once oxidized, in this case it's a red tint. It's not dirty, the tubs themselves are not dirty, educate yourself by reading online or speaking with one of the lovely attendants.

Secondly, the water's mineral content and carbonation offer many health benefits in addition to just being enjoyable. It IS special water, that's why it is so famous. I have enjoyed every bath I've had at the Roosevelt Spa. The facility is dated, yes, but it takes you back in time in a good way. The facility itself is clean and comfortable.

Now as for the -1 star. There are a few things that could make a bath experience better (especially since they jacked up the price). The changing/locker room is comically small, and frustrating when there is more than 4 people in there at a time. The end warm towels are way too small (though it is stocked well with amenities and the robes are lovely), and the linens in my tub room at my most recent visit today were tattered and frayed. Something small like a chocolate or a mint handed over at the time of the warm towel would also be a nice touch. Lastly, the tubs really need some kind of tray to lay across them or a table nearby for your beverage, book, phone etc. They provide a stool but they are very small and low to the ground and if you are using them in your tub you can't put your things on them.

This review is strictly for bath services as I've never had any of the other services, but I've enjoyed these baths many times and I think they are a great way for someone to treat themselves to a little act...
