Amazing Floors — Attraction in Clawson

We spent several months researching and getting quotes from numerous floor companies. We just weren’t happy with the products others had, or the fact that they all wanted to rush the install. Nor would these other companies remove and replace baseboards. So we finally stumble across Amazing Floors. From my first phone call with Frank, to my quote experience with Daniel (owner). They treated us very well. I did not have to negotiate for an hour for a better price. Daniel gave me the best price out the gate. This price also included removing old flooring and baseboards, and installing new flooring and new Baseboards. The price even included repairing or replacing any damaged subfloor areas. Within reason of course. I did have 3 small sections of subfloor that need to be replaced. So just want to point out. All these big box companies I received quotes from would only do half the work for double the cost. Selecting then product, Frank was super patient with us when we went to the show room. We finally narrowed down to two options. He let us take large samples home so we could set it in different areas throughout the house to see which one we liked best. Once we made our decision, the rest was pretty seamless. They scheduled our install date, we had to change it a couple of times and they totally worked with us and were understanding about it. Install day arrives. The wife and I moved most of the furniture to the garage. I wanted the team focused on doing my floors, not moving my furniture around lol. The tore everything out on day one. Prepped and cleaned the subfloor and started laying the LVP flooring we selected. Should note, they also fixed any floor squeaking areas too. So they installed about 3/4 of the house on day 1. Then day 2 finished the flooring and installed the new baseboards. ( please note - a few weeks before my install date. The company dropped off my baseboards per my request. So I could paint them before hand.) so glad we did this, it made life so much easier. All I had to do is cover the nail holes and touch up. We hired Amazing Floors to remove the carpet in 3 rooms and to sand and stain the preexisting hardwood floors that had been underneath the whole time. The guys they sent removed the carpet, sanded the hardwood floors, and applied the first 2 layers of stain over the first 2 days (initially told everything would be done in 3 days). The primary guy was not able to make it on day 3 however as he had to take a leave from work, so when we called Amazing Floors we were told they would try to send someone else within 2-3 days.

It ended up taking about a week for anyone to show up and when they did, it was a very rushed job. The floors visually turned out okay but still feel rough in certain areas. The shoe molding was done very poorly...a lot of gaps left in between pieces, some of the pieces were dirty, some of the pieces have cracks in them, and finally some areas still have old pieces of carpet visible. The workers also did not clean anything before leaving. The worst part is that when we initially called Amazing Floors about this, they stated they would send someone to take a look at it...but no one did and now no one will pick up the phone or return our messages. I met Frank when I stopped in @ Amazing Floors to inquire about new flooring for our parents. He visited our parents with samples, so they could compare them with the coloring of the room and he offered keen insight regarding the affect of lighting, durability for their pet,etc. He worked closely with them to choose a suitable plank flooring for their home. He was very professional, personal, punctual, and knowledgable through the entire project. He gave us the time we needed to move out some of the clutter before we scheduled the installation. The wonderful team of installers were there two days! They moved the heavy furniture, ripped out old carpet, dissasembled and reassembled the bed, so our parents could sleep that night. They worked super hard to complete early the second day so that our parents could attend a special family event which they had been looking forward to for a couple months. The installers were wonderful from beginning to end. The new floors look great, are of good quality and should last a long time.
