UPDATE: So in case U haven’t noticed, or been by this park in awhile, Municipal Park in Clayton has just recently gone thru a major renovation! Major! If U have little ones, there’s a splash pad for water play on these hot summer days. It said ages 5-12. It’s open 10am-8pm. Beside the splash pad is all new playground equipment that’s totally innovative & play areas that R pretty expansive. They installed astroturf or something like it for these areas (not on the splash pad but all other kiddie areas). The new basketball courts R pretty insane & hopefully they R a lot better to play real ball on. All new bathroom facilities, maple shelters, yes covered areas made out of what appears to be solid treated maple wood. It’s very pretty. I’m sure they have this park in mind for many private & public events & celebrations to come. It’s impressive. The only thing I didn’t see were trash receptacles & they may still be installed in the near future. At this point tho, they’re setting out trash carts around the area for folks to use. One more thing possibly needed is the little thing that holds doggie bags for ppl who bring their pets out there. This is definitely a place now where folks should really clean up after their pets. It’s obvious some serious coin was spent on this park, & for those who enjoy being at their local park, especially with friends for a game of hoops or their kids & family for a picnic lunch/bbq & playtime, this is the one by far you should...
Read moreMunicipal park- PLEASE add a slide here and more benches for parents (with shade because omg there’s none). This is a super hot sunshiney splash pad. The water isn’t very abundant, it turns off every few minutes unless someone goes to put their hand on the sensor. The water features take turns at full power with half maybe at half or less water power. Could really use more water overall on those busy days. But I love the fake grass on the playground. Would be great if it could be fenced in since there’s not easy visibility. But still a nice free splash pad. No dogs or cats are allowed (my son is allergic so this is good for us), though I have seen people bring their pets. Has decent public restrooms that are hard to notice but are located on the side of the building facing the ball field. I don’t like how you can’t see them well for safety reasons. So I accompany my kids and check...
Read moreDisappointed we arrived at 10 am The splash pad was closed due to maintenance they had a board out front and had you scan the code for information the information led me to a website where it said the splash pad was closed the entire day. The kids played in the park area. Other kids tried to play on the splash pad cause there was water coming out. The maintenance man told all the kids to get off that area it's closed. As soon as we got in the car after 2 hours of being there they put the closed sign away and opened it. If your website says closed for the day that's what should happen. It was about 90 degrees that day and after 2 hours of park time We left.
The park has a beautiful set up everything close together so you can watch your kids and see the whole park from most angles. Just disappointed in the staff...
