Colfax Heritage Museum — Attraction in Colfax

So, Colfax is one of my favorite places. A beautiful place with a rich history that is well captured at the museum. Being inside the restored 1905 train depot, the setting is befitting. Each year the Colfax Railroad days is a fun event that often includes railroad equipment from the UP and a docent escorted tour of the occasionally opened wooden caboose. This is a great place to catch the California Zephyr. The folks at the gift shop and museum are always friendly and helpful. The awning is large, so it's easy to catch the shade or stay out of the rain if you want to sit on the benches outside. Both eastbound and westbound California Zephyrs pass through here...
