My wife and I went on a date last night 1/1/25 to the Swift Creek Mill Theatre. This was my first time here and she had not been since grade school. I have to say I was impressed! From the moment we entered the door the staff was amazing. Everyone was so nice and happy to have us. We had a delicious 3 course dinner with the best house mango salad dressing and rolls I've ever had, the israeli couscous melted in your mouth, and the roasted chicken and a side cabbage roll were cooked to perfection with the mashed potatoes and green beans that tasted better than my grandmother's which is saying something. We both had cocktails and my wife had the sugar plum margarita and she said it tasted magnificent. Our waitress was wonderful and friendly and the decor of the old mill dinning room made the dinner romantic but not overly stuffy, we were amazed at how good the chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce desert and coffee were when finishing our meal. After dinner we went to the stage area to watch the performance of the Diary of Anne Frank. The play was so moving and well acted I would highly recommend to any one to go see this! The young lady Ayla Hanna-Elizabeth Clinton who plays as Anne had be mesmerized and played her part perfectly! By the end of the show there were grown men and woman crying and sniffling it was as if you were right there living through/with the experience of Anne and her family. I must say we had a great time and what a great date night that was so much better than the normal just going out for dinner. Thank you so much to all of the cooks, wait staff, management, and actors we will be back again and i look toward anthor spectacular date with my wife at the...
Read moreMUST visit, and support this wonderful establishment! I've seen over 40 plays in this beautiful building, and the intimate setting and close stage make it such an amazing experience! I have been visiting the theater for over 25 years, the 1st time being a field trip with our school and a pizza party in the downstairs mill area. Surrounded by the remnants of the past, and huge millstones the feeling you get in this building is one of nostalgia, and joy. I highly recommend you book a show. You can eat there, or just see the show! Intermission has WONDERFUL snacks, and decedent desserts with great tea, coffee, alcohol or other great choices. You cannot go wrong! Worth a 2.5 hr drive if you also visit some of our beautiful historic sites and mall before...
Read moreI frequently buy season tickets to Swift Creek Mill for my mother and I to enjoy an evening out together. However, the show Love Sick had content that I was uncomfortable with. I took my 13 year old grandson with us on Friday evening. I called ahead to make sure it was appropriate for me bring him. I was told there was nothing too bad in it probably a pg13 rating. Ok thats fine. However two of the nine scenes contained gay love scenes which I did not appreciate having to endure with my mom and grandson. I have never seen the theater that empty before. It was unusual. Then I knew why. They need to find a way to better inform the public when they choose to show controversial material. I am rethinking my season tickets already purchased for...
