Bear Creek is a beautiful park! Picnic area, trails, seasonal gardening plots available to rent, jungle gym & many other amenities. Park is well maintained & safe. Approximately 1/4 mile down the road is Bear Creek Dog Park. There your Canine companion(s) can romp & play too!! As with ANY park or public hiking area, ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings, especially after dark! This area is home to Bears & 3 types of large cats: Puma/mountain lion, Bobcat and last but NOT least, the Lynx. All in all, a GREAT PARK for family & friends to gather at, or for you to soak up some nature without having to travel far. I've attached 2 pix of the Garden Plot Area. Enjoy!

Love this place, it had a bee exhibit in the welcome center with a working hive... I was there while they were renovating the center but me and my boy had a good time...the trails are family friendly and fun with a bunch of plaques showing you what's around you... from plant life and trees to localized animals and creatures... nice little hike with a small stretch running next to a babbling brook.... definitely would recommend this if your in the neighborhood and want a nice little afternoon with the fam. 100% love this place go out and check it out...

Over 500 acres of park to explore. This expansive 500-acre park is truly impressive, offering a vast open space where visitors can enjoy a range of outdoor activities within a beautifully natural setting. One of its standout features is the enormous fenced-in area, which provides a secure environment for various uses, whether it’s for families with young children, pet owners who want a safe place for their dogs to roam freely, or groups of friends seeking a wide, open space for games and gatherings. The fenced area ensures peace of mind, knowing that everyone can enjoy themselves safely without worrying about straying too far or encountering unexpected hazards.

Beyond the fenced-in section, the park offers sprawling trails and paths that wind through its scenic landscapes, perfect for hiking, jogging, or simply taking a leisurely walk to enjoy the surrounding beauty. With its ample space, the park never feels crowded, allowing everyone to find their own quiet corner to relax and connect with nature. Whether you’re looking to engage in active pursuits, have a picnic, or simply unwind in the tranquil environment, this 500-acre park has something to offer for all ages and interests, making it a true oasis for...

Very well maintained and easily accessible. Great views of the front range and Colorado Springs! Nice and open and right next to some other great hiking areas like Red Rock Canyon Open Space as well as right by old stage and gold camp roads. Great place to take the pets and get some sun and easy enough not to be beat by the end of the day or visit. I could see myself putting up a hammock or laying down a blanket for a picnic and a book for some light reading in the nice mountain air and warm sun. Definitely recommend for anyone in the Colorado Springs area or just visiting. Great job to the crew that maintains this, you guys are awesome! Hats off to Colorado Springs for bolstering the good old out doors and upholding top of the notch standards and practices so that many generations to come can enjoy our amazing city and immense beauty mother nature provides!...

Love it here. Love the SIZE mainly, my boy has a ton of room to run. Also an awesome dog park because you have the option of walking the trail, going off the trail and exploring on your own, or even playing in the creek and letting their paws get wet in the water. Secluded cuts offs along the water if your pup isn't as sociable and you'd prefer NOT to be in the busier area at the water/trail head. Water provided here, poop baga&drop boxes, PLEASE only bring your pup if they enjoy other dogs company. Definitely a dog park for dogs that don't struggle with listening/ obedience and are very friendly with other animals. Could be overwhelming for dogs who are not used to the dog park environment. Are nice days it gets pretty busy and crowded. Only complaint, would be owners who ring dog that are not very sociable to this place where they're supposed to...
