Read moreTaking Viewpoint Trail to Panorama Point from the end of University Ave. is a sweet quick cardio-friendly hike to get a good panoramic view of the city. It's at a decent incline, so it's really gonna depend how seasoned your glutes are whether it'll take 35 minutes or 60-75 to get to the top. Budget an hour + breaks and you're good to go. Unless it's really raining or snowing regular sneakers are A-OK on the well-trodden paths here.
Continue onto Flagstaff trail from here for many more hours of gorgeous scenery. I especially like to go back down the south side of Flagstaff right into Chautauqua (via Baseline Rd.) for a nice city/mountain multi-trail daytrip with my dog. Takes 3-4 hours or more depending on how far you get into Chautauqua.
My husband and I also like to drive up Flagstaff Rd. in the evening to park at the top of Panorama point and watch the sunset, stargaze or just look at the glittering city...
