I want to say first off my grand kids had a great time. That makes me very happy. But my experience was clouded with a clerk who kept trying to take my 6 year old grandson’s panning pan away because I was helping him hold the pan so he could dig around in the sand and pretend he was finding his treasure. The clerk actually took my pan at one point because my other grandson who is 7, got cold and stopped panning so he could warm up. I took the pan back and told the clerk I paid for the pan for one hour and I was keeping it until my time was up. She finally left us alone and let my kids have their fun. We probably wont be back. Read moreCrazy how these things happen. I wandered into this place just out of curiosity. The young man behind the counter (really nice young guy) asked me if I want to go into the museum. I'll be honest, I was not so excited at first since it kind of looks small from where you enter the building, but I was wrong.
First floor is really interesting. All about the gold mining that went on there. The second floor has some amazing artifacts and rooms which are set up the way they would have been back in the day.

We covered a large physical area in our tour & even witnessed a "shot"(an explosion) from a safe vantage point. We saw one of the extremely large mining trucks(out of service) up close & personal & were able to climb up into it if we wished. This tour was a great value too.
