My husband and myself and two friends drove up to Victor to check out the brooms we read about in the Gazette. The entire day was a great adventure and enjoyable experience. We wandered around town on an unseasonably cool day, stopping to view the ice rink and explore the antique store, "The Prospectors Pick" and old Victor Hotel before shopping at the Victor Trading Company, (our reason for the trip) where we met the friendly and sociable owners. I ordered a "Grandma's Kitchen" Broom, made in my kitchen's colors after Karen told us about how they came to develop their shop. Then off to have lunch in Kelly"s Fortune Club Diner where we were offered a bit of the history of this old business which in now owned by that family's 4th generation. When we returned in about an hour my broom was waiting for me. We want to go back soon because looking back on the day we realize there is more to see in Victor and a town full of interesting people who already feel like friends. The entire trip inspired by the Victor Trading Company exceeded our expectation! It's actually quite interesting to know how many different brooms you can make! The display is well done and captivating. The store has also a display of old printing machines and type sets. Although neither the broom making nor the printing articles are originally from Victor, the store front and the inside, with its hundreds of "antique" articles, adds to the flair of the town of Victor.
