Planned a stopover while passing through. Between Colorado Springs and the western slope. It’s a very different hotel experience. Not just due to the unique building history. We didn’t see an employee of the hotel for the duration of our one night stay. All check in and out is handled through text and door codes. Did have a problem with our reservation and which was sorted before we returned from dinner. Walls floors and ceilings are pretty thin. Conversations in other rooms, tv and even just people walking around are pretty audible. We had a corner room with lots of windows. The room itself was nice. Could not figure mouth what was going on with the HVAC controls(and I am an HVAC service tech. There was a modern digital thermostat that I expected to run AC. No vents in the room and that thermostat seemed to have no effect whatsoever. Room was getting colder the longer we were there with autumn temps outside. There is a beautiful large cast iron steam radiator with a modern/recently replace control valve. I don’t believe the boiler was on while we were there because it had no function regardless of setting. When it hit 61 degrees I plugged in the portable electric radiator that was in the room. The standard bathroom(without soaker tub) was tiny and cramped. Shower curtain rod was falling off so the shower curtain laid in the water in the bottom of the tub during a shower. The building and rooms are cool if you’re into old places and things. Room was clean. The “haunted elevator” was very interesting to ride and as the legend goes it did seem to randomly move from floor to floor while we were there. Enjoyed our stay but the function of the HVAC in the room and lack of in person staff was a negative for us.

Our room was very nicely appointed. It was updated with some nice features like a mirror with LED lighting and antifog features, a nice large screen TV, and door locks that used PIN numbers instead of key cards. That said, the walls are so thin we could clearly hear every conversation in the room next us. We could even hear when their phones were vibrating. We also heard the multiple verbal bar fights outside our window. And I am fairly certain our bed was a double, not a queen size. The elevator was out of order and appeared to not have been in order for a very long time. Nor does it look like it will be in order in the near future. Thus, you have to use the stairs. Thank goodness we were only on the second floor. There were two flights of steep stairs to the second floor. If stairs are an issue for you, check to see if the elevator is working before you book. This is basically a building of AirBnB or VRBO rooms. Everything is done via text, from checking in to requesting toilet paper. There is no front desk. It took 12 hours and two requests to get toilet paper. The lovely pictures on the website are very well staged. The lobby furniture is worn and fraying. The nice accoutrements don’t exist.

This is a gorgeous little spot in a quiet mountain town. The locals are very friendly and willing to chat about your adventures. The queen suites provide just what you need. A fridge, fan, heater, tv, microwave, bathroom and a comfy bed! I definitely recommend spending that little extra bit for the fourth floor corner queen suites. The views of the nearby mountains are worth it. If you are not acclimated to elevation and the elevator is out be prepared to be out of breath! A small price to pay for a beautiful view. Note that there’s only two restaurants in Victor and their hours vary. Copper creek hosts a majority of the amenities in the immediate area. Another thing to note is there is no front desk attendant. All contact with the hotel is via text. Your checkin information will be provided at the day of check in. This include the hotel pin and the room pin. There are gorgeous hikes in the area and a plethora of plaques detailing the history of Victor. I’d definitely recommend spending some time here especially if you don’t want to stay in a city or just passing through the mountains to visit.

Oh My Goodness! Sadly, this has been a nightmare! 20-Aug-2024 we received a text telling us that the elevator JUST went out…(In reading some of the recent reviews, I can clearly tell that this was not quite truthful…) We were Booked and PAID for a Premium King Room in the 4th floor. When we received the text I immediately responded that this might not work and PLEASE reach out to us… That never happened and when I called the call went in answered and unreturned. Let me just add here, that we are in Colorado celebrating our 50th anniversary. That inning of itself should tell anybody that we are not probably in the condition to hike up for flights of stairs carrying luggage. So to say I was a little bit worried when they weren’t responding after paying roughly $400 for a hotel room is an understatement. The last three days we started receiving a barrage of texts welcoming us to the Victor… Finally, the day before our check-in, we were in an area, but I had enough broadband signal that I could call the Victor. I think I spoke to Sunshine, but I can’t be sure. at that point, I expressed our concern that nobody had contacted us back, and that we were on the fourth floor, and that we were not in any condition to hike up the stairs, carrying our own luggage. The young woman told us, no problem we’re going to put up a chair on the landing, you can sit down until you’re ready to go all the way up to the second floor, which is where we decided to move you. We still expressed concern. My husband is scheduled for hip replacement surgery four days after we return home to Virginia. She assured us that if we were having a problem, we could just text or call her and she would attend to it right away. Well it’s the next day and we’ve already packed ourselves up and left the hotel. We made it up to the room. All the windows were open. The room was literally freezing. We promptly closed all the windows and tried to turn on the heat. We noticed that there was a portable heater, so my husband instantly plugged that in for me. No heat at all. We called. Twice. No response. NO ONE IS EVER at the Desk. We tried that 4 times last night and twice today before leaving at 8:00am. The Mattress is so old and worn out that my poor husband could barely get up this morning. Have you ever checked into a hotel and they not have tissues? No water? Don’t waste your money. I’m not even going to point out the poor layout of this room. The bathroom. No water pressure in the shower. We stay in a lot of older historic hotels and BnBs. This was one of our worst experiences! Absolutely a disappointment. Also, when the desk was open, you could read the sign on the wall where somebody had handwritten the goals for the day. Make sure all the rooms were cleaned taking only 20 minutes each… Let me tell you rooms need more than a 20 minute cleaning. And for the price they need a few amenities and guest...

The hotel checkin is interesting, as it's done contactless, however there is a front desk and there is a person there at times to check in that way. They will send you their contact number the day of arrival as they are usually away from the desk. If not, you can use your keycode instead. The room unlocks at 3pm, unless you contact the front desk number you are given and they can unlock it earlier if the room is ready.|| Currently as of June 2024, there was a flooding issue on the top 4th floor. So rooms maybe in limited capactity at this time of the review.|| The hotel is old and interesting which fits into the atmosphere of the old mining town. There is a nice front lobby you can hang out in with ice cold lemon water and coffee/tea all the time and some pastries in the morning (not sure if they were there at other times).|| The room is nice looking, though had an odd smell and there was dust on everything. The room had an electric mirror where you could change the color settings of it which was kind of cool. Fridge and microwave are in the room, though make sure you note that they stock some of the fridge with alcohol/drinks as well as snacks on the table which are all vastly overpriced, so make sure you aren't taking the wrong thing if you use the fridge for your own drinks.|| Room had a ceiling fan and an extra floor fan, though the setting for the ceiling fan is kind of trial and error to make sure you have it on the right setting and not turning it off by mistake.|| One of the room windows didn't shut properly, not an issue in the summer when we were there, but could be in the winter months if people are stying and the hotel is open.|| There is a bar/restaurant next to the lobby, at the time we stayed, they had just opened for the first time of the year and had only limited options from their large menu, due to the flooding and possibly due to the summer season beginning.|| Town is small, only 2 other places to eat that we found and one bakery closed at 4pm and the pizza place is actually just a bar with microwave pizzas they serve you. The restaurants and the bar we saw all close when there are no more people. So no set hours. The liquor store is also closed for much of the year and had a sign saying "closed for the winter" at the end of June when we were there.|| I like the hotel, it has some interesting spooky history to it, though for the town and area it's a bit pricey,...

I'm sharing for my elderly parents, as they were taken advantage of. We had stayed 3 days at the Victor Hotel in October 2020 for our 46th Wedding Anniversary. At our late age we wanted to get out of the house as we had been in quarantine as much as possible. We chose Victor Hotel because it is a quiet and quaint little town so not too many folks around.

We talked with the owner and she was very nice and we asked about her husband because we had talked to him some time ago when we were in town before. He was very ill then and she had mentioned that he was in the hospital and not doing well at all.

We had a room on the top floor and took the elevator up and you could see no rooms were being used and were gutted out on the other floors as the elevator had windows. Our room had large windows from floor to ceiling which were very dirty and let in all street light when it was dark out and looked like day when trying to sleep. We put new paper on the windows and took it down when our stay was over. We had also brought water washable markers and used them on the washable surfaces which should have been washed in the first place for our stay and they were not. We had asked the chambermaid to please wash our sink 2 times and it was grungy and never did come clean and also had no plug in it. Windows were not cleaned and the rug was torn in a few spots. We had to use a suitcase to keep the burrow opened so we could watch TV.

We got a bill that stated that we did property damage and it had taken the chambermaid 4 hours to clean this 1 room and said that we left paper on the windows and a drop of cranberry juice was on the little refrigerator and it had to be changed it out for a new one.

The room was $305.10 for each night which was not worth it and then the owner added another $300 plus tax for damage of this little room and for what??? Everything the chambermaid needed to clean anyway? Our total ended up being $629.51 which she charged a month later! This is totally not right. We feel she was looking for some way to charge us to help pay her husband’s hospital bills and the hardship of not having...
