After months of anticipation, I finally had my appointment with Adam on Saturday February 22nd. I just wanted something small and delicate to go on a scar on my throat. I had come across his artwork while visiting the area last fall and reached out immediately to hopefully be able to book with him. Upon arriving, I really enjoyed our conversation and felt comfortable with him proceeding with the tattoo. I have several with my torso almost completely covered so there was no nervousness etc. It was a very quick session and completely painless. I thought maybe it was the lighting or the angle that I was trying to look at it, but 48 hours post tattoo I knew something wasn't quite right. The tattoo looks very old, the line work is completely uneven, it is asymmetrical, and it's glaringly obvious that it was very poorly done. I was very surprised and uncertain how to approach the situation. I live a few hours away so stopping by the shop isn't really an option. I thought surely somebody with this level of expertise, experience, and knowledge would not have left me with such a terrible tattoo. I reached out to a couple of tattoo shop owners that have done work on me previously and showed them the photos of my neck hoping that maybe they would see something to redeem it. But they too agreed that there are no excuses to be found to leave someone in my position. That it would have been obvious before I ever left the appointment. I did reach out to Adam and he responded offering to do a touch-up. However when I sent him the close-up photo, his response was I see. He then stated he wanted to go over the entire thing. Unfortunately, despite a great environment and conversation, I am too concerned to have a 2nd session. It's difficult to hide something that's on the center of your throat but thankfully I have enough high neck tops to hide it right now. So I am off to get it completely covered up in a couple of weeks. Who knew that a 3-hour drive one direction & $150 plus a $30 tip would leave me spending even more money for something the size of a silver dollar. The close-up photo was 3 days after the tattoo. The other was the one he took when he was finished. I still think he is an amazing artist and that he does amazing work...
Read moreAdam is one of the greats—plain and simple. I’ve been getting tattooed by Adam for over 10 years now, and I truly wouldn’t trust anyone else. He makes every session comfortable, really listens to your ideas, and somehow always turns even my craziest concepts into incredible, meaningful tattoos.
Most recently, he fixed a botched piece I got from someone else—and it was such a relief to have someone with his talent and care take it on. He’s not only a phenomenal artist, but also just an awesome human being. Super easy to vibe with, genuinely cares about his clients, and somehow remembers the tiniest details from conversations we had years ago. (Seriously, the man has the memory of an elephant.)
I can’t recommend Adam enough. Thank you for all the amazing art you’ve done for me—I’m already looking forward to...
