City Cut Salon & Day Spa 城市髮廊 — Attraction in Columbus

City Cuts salon is one of the best salons I’ve ever been to! It is very difficult to find a salon in the Midwest that does quality Japanese permanent hair straightening, but luckily, City Cuts fits that bill. My hair is in an awkward spot between 2a and 2b curly hair type, which ends up making my natural hair quite frizzy and unmanageable. I tried the “curly girl” method for years, which never really worked for me having wavy hair, before stumbling onto Japanese hair straightening. It is LIFE CHANGING. I step out of the shower and have perfectly smooth, silky, non-frizzy hair every day for about a year before I need to go back into City Cuts for a touch up. No straightening or blow drying even required! If you’re interested in this method, City Cuts is one of the only salons/providers in the Midwest that I would trust with this process. They use the Liscio technique, which in my opinion is the best version of this treatment besides Yuko. Because of how much it changes your hair follicle shape and the strength of the treatment, you really don’t want anyone other than someone with as much experience as the owner and stylists at City Cuts doing this! They do a fantastic job! The treatment has ended up lasting me over a year before I had to go back in, which is better than my previous stylist provided with this service.

It’s a long process (depending on the thickness and length of your hair) but 100% worth it! I highly recommend going to City Cuts for Japanese hair...

In desperate need of hair straightening treatment that lasts longer than a month. Brazilian blowouts and keratin treatments do not straighten as much as they remove frizzy hair. Alan Chan provided a Japanese hair straightening treatment that seems to have worked for my hair.

I’ve had my hair straightened before but never at City Cut Salon with Alan. My hair was frizzy and only semi-straight, and I had let it grow too long. I met with Alan for a free consult and told him I was worried about damage because I didn’t want to cut it short. He said they could treat the new growth and condition the rest.

Now my hair is completely straight and really soft. Even after weeks and washes, it still looks like the after-treatment photo.
