My wife and I spent a couple of hours researching in the genealogy library. Ella, the librarian and editor of the local genealogical society's newsletter, was very helpful in finding and printing for us old newspaper articles and obituaries about my wife's ancestors who lived and died in Cherokee County. Afterward, we visited the adjoining museum. There, the docent, Doris, was very informative and engaging. She gave us a private guided tour of the museum. Excellent docents provided lots of background about materials on display, and we came away with a real sense of history of the town, its residents, and the surrounding community.
