Valentine's Day was a great time to stop in to check this out. Had a great discussion with Dee Dee. Very enjoyable and totally a great owner that is totally in to her product. Great assortment of chocolates. Got a pound of the #1 assortment. She also gave me a couple of there Turtles to sample. OMG, nice and creamy chocolate with Carmel and nuts. I could have ate a ton of them. Everyone should take the time to stop in and try their chocolates. You definitely won't be disappointed. Update: I was out about yesterday and decided I have been meaning to go back to for the longest time. And doing a little fact checking, it has been 5 years. Geez!!! That was when it was called John Eagle Candies. Nowadays it’s called Eagle Family Candy. The business changed hands within the family back in 2019 it appears. The owners now are James Peck and DeeDee Eagle. They are still making the quality chocolates that were made in the past. Talking with James I learned unbeknownst to the public there is a massive shortage of chocolate at this time. They’re still making a smaller version of all their products and will be releasing some new items shortly. In the meantime, if you want some chocolate candies, this should be at the top of your list to visit. They have been in business since 1946, news flash, you don’t do that by not having a phenomenal product. Let’s get out and back another home town business. Oh!! Yes all the candies I bought have been properly disposed of. Yummmy!!!!

I happened to find this candy shop when I looked for Buckeye chocolate for my friends who visited Columbus. I was so glad I went there because James was friendly, and the assorted chocolates he picked for me were so delicious. Since it was my first time there, he even let me try a buckeye they made. It was so fresh and not overly sweet! They ran out of assorted boxes due to COVID-19, but James tried his best to wrap my chocolate assortment beautifully. They also sell cards that go perfectly with boxes. You might be worried when you discover they don't have a fancy interior design. However, it's a fourth-generation store that provides old-fashioned candies, be prepared to chat and greet in an old-fashioned way. Welcome to stop by and support this historically local small business. You will never be disappointed.

Very limited stock- the owner kindly let me know it was a result of a broken belt and chocolate shortage. That said there were no samples. The brittle was good and the buckeyes were reminiscent of homemade. We paid $20 for 6 small buckeyes and a carton of brittle. Inside is dated and has an odd smell. The carpet is likely as old as the store. That said, I would try them again closer to chocolate season, which I was told is Christmas to Easter.

Found this hidden gem this past year and if i may say anything about this candy shop its that you could nkt leave unhappy if you tried. Its a small family owned business, passed down through the generations over many decades. From the customers ive met both younger and older kind service and quality product has always been a part of both this business and the family that keeps their family dream alive.

There is a wide variety of products including the "best buckeye in columbus 2019" award winning peanut butter and chocolate delicacies that i make sure i grab at least one of every time i stop, amazing peanut brittle, butter cremes, eaglettes (just like turtles), opera creme, chocolate covered anything including custom dips and molds, chocolate covered strawberrys, and many many more.

The family you meet in this business will always bring a smile to your face, and they work hard almost year round to please columbus. Ive had the pleasure of getting to know them on a more personal basis over time because you find yourself walking in for a pound of chocolate and leave an hour later with a life lesson and some free samples (always available). Will reccomend Eagle Family Candy Co. For as long as they remain open which hopefully i never see the...

I am risking my life in Columbus traffic to write this review. I decided to stop in on this chocolate store on a whim because I was visiting the violin shop next-door to it. I talked with the owner for about 15 minutes and I can clearly see he knows and loves chocolate! He gave me one of everything he had in the shop but I didn’t taste them until I left the shop otherwise I would have told him to his face: This was by far the best chocolate I’ve had in America in over a year! I am so glad I only got 10 pieces of chocolate otherwise my New Year’s resolution would be farther out the door than it is already.

The chocolate is melt in your mouth delicious! Smooth, creamy, rich… Everything you could want in a chocolate treat. I’ve tried the mint, caramel cream, pecan cluster, and buckeye. And I am exercising extreme self control not to just eat my way through all the rest of these and sink into a wonderful chocolate coma. Everything was such delightful surprise. Highly recommend stopping by to get yourself some high-quality delicious handmade chocolates and support this small...
