I REALLY hope the Board of Directors of IRT looks at the reviews of their properties as well as current and potential investors. As for prospective home buyers be weary. In my opinion there are some PROS when living at Kensington Commons, the apartments provide a nice living space with a large kitchen, living room, and nice size bathrooms. The community lot has a pool on site as well as a fitness area in the leasing office. CONS: I previously lived at Kensington Commons prior to the management change and I can say I preferred the old management over this new one. There are areas of opportunity that NEED to be addressed if they wish to retain and entice new occupants. For one the leasing office needs restructured. The leasing office personnel are far from personable, friendly, or efficient. You can enter a service request or raise a concern and while they say they are going to get the matter resolved within 24-48 hours here I am waiting 3 weeks for the windows of my apartment to be addressed. When the maintenance team does get around to resolving your matter it is typically a temporary fix as I have been reporting the problem with rain seeping through my windows into my apartment since I first moved in. The entire window needs replaced at this point but it doesn't seem the complex cares to provide me with a permanent solution. I can't prop the window open either because it doesn't lock into place and proceeds to slam shut. Needless to say the vast majority of the apartments being occupied are outdated. In addition, there is a sewage problem that maintenance has made us aware of resulting in your sinks smelling terrible when running water and the drains clog often. The rent is OVER PRICED for an outdated space, there is NO guaranteed parking even with the new parking policy in place. With the new visitor spots in place being far and few it makes it hard to have company over without fearing their cars won't be towed. In addition, a parking sticker is provided to each leaseholder where in my case I am the primary leaseholder and my children are underage so I rcvd only 1 parking sticker while a family with licensed drivers may have rcvd 4 stickers giving them access to 4 parking spots making it hard to find parking outside of your own home. I have been forced to buy a garage bc of this which is an additional $75 making my rent over $1,000 a month and is a nice distance from my home making it an inconvenience when toting TWO small children. All in all I want out of my lease and cannot wait until this agreement is terminated so that I can go pay $1,000 for a LUXURY apartment with a leasing office that knows how to effectively...
Read moreMy last few months at The Commons at Canal Winchester. The trash on the grounds increased. Glass laid broke in grass for over a month never cleaned up. They increased my rent for my year and decreased trash pick ups. Causing the trash can across the street to my apartment to overflow with in 2 to 3 days and stay overflowing for the rest of the week. Trash blowing down the street because of raccoons ripping open bags. All my windows in my apartment got to open up to this view. Glad, I paid extra for this view. The bracket that supports the stairs up to my apartment had been rusting away. Let the maintenance supervisor know about this issue was told its on contractor list. Was still rusting away when I moved out. Guess, that's not a safety concern to management. Shame, I really liked this property when I first came but to many issues with management and things not getting resolved.
Edit: they keep deleting my review and pictures. I have tried reaching out but my phone calls go unanswered. I sent emails to their corporate office where I was told to by the office, even though my account was still active and still getting emails about it,no response from their corporate office collections department. My time with irt living wasn't a pleasant time, so I tried to move on. They have kept me here in collections with them when I tried to pay and move on. At this point If rent is around $1200 a month, if my experience has kept one person from moving in it has costed them $14000 for the year. The review has been up for 4 years. One person a year for 4 years $57,600, Then the hourly pay to have someone keep deleting my review and taking my pictures off my review. You have deleted it 3 times now and taken my pictures down over 4 times now. If my review doesn't matter to you, you wouldn't be trying to delete it and the pictures off it. How about just let me close my account with you? Both parties could have moved on from each other. Let me be done with you please. I tried almost 4 years ago. Only put this up because YOU won't let me close this account.
If you're having issues here, like management would tell me. “Hang in there, it's going to get better”. just to let you know it doesn't get any better, it continued to get worse till I left.I heard that for almost 2 years. From my first week, to my last week being around them..
Treated bad and then tried to be silenced by them. I...
Read moreThis has been the worst experience in my life. I haven’t contemplated suicide this much ever! Initially the experience was fine. Once money start coming up missing within your organization, things took a turn for me. Due to an unhappy employees mistake, my account was messed up and it look as if I didn’t pay my rent. It took corporate and the office almost 6 months to find out why my MONEY ORDERS were “bouncing” or returned. After further investigation with money gram I was able to prove IRT living cashed the money order. During the mix up I was due to sign another 12 month lease. But due the the mix up I was unable to do that . The whole mix up resulted to me being wrongfully evicted and owing over 17,000$. I was promised by Amy and Solomon(attorney) that everything will be fixed and they apologize. I also learned that my son was on my lease as a lease holder and he was evicted too, he was only 16 years old at the date of filing. Although my balance reflected 17,00$ I only lawfully owed 10,000. I was then told a numerous amount of times once the account was at zero, the remainder of the 17,000 would be placed as a credit. After the check was received from a state agency, I was told they will not prorate the rent to reflect the rental amount I would of paid if I was able to sign my 12 month lease. During this process I suffered extreme depression and anxiety. I even had to take my kids toys and Christmas items back 3 days before Christmas because I was threatened with a sticker on my door by sheriffs to vacate unit. I even had a flood that was caused by a contractor in the unit above me. It cause mold on and in the walls. The office rep and I agreed to paint and fix light fixtures after I vacate. After vacating I was sent pictures of the water damage with a bill attached. It’s like no one talks to anyone within this company. I now have a eviction on my record for something that...
