I ordered carry out. The service is what it is. You donāt order ahead you have to wait 20-30 mins for your meal. The atmosphere isnāt my idea of warm and inviting so would probably never dine in. And the food sealed the deal, I will never frequent this place. The rice was some of the blandest I have ever had. I ordered jerk chicken and the anatomy of what I received in my container was not chicken. There is no way. My first impressionā¦. they gave me a leg quarter. Which isn't what I expect when I order jerk. But ok. It was smaller than the average leg quarter with barely any meat, whatever animal this thing came off of was definitely starved. And what meat was on the thing was so tough i couldnāt rip it off the bone. Needless to say it went in the trash. My husband had ox tails. And they were some of the smallest ox tails i have ever seen. This place needs to stop cutting corners and buy quality meat. Other than that⦠the plantains were good. But thatās not enough to get me to go back. 40 dollars for two non-edible meals. Just save your coins and pass...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my second time ordering food. First time I ordered in person. Food wasnāt exactly what I expected since Iām very familiar with west African cuisine. I ordered over the phone. Jollof with lamb. The lady repeated order then started talking to someone and just hung up. My husband went to pick it up. They didnāt have my order. Whatever I got was more like fried rice, not jollof ( nothing tomato based about it which is how itās cooked). The meat was beef. Not lamb. There was one very small chunk of lamb. The huge pieces were beef, so I feel like they were trying to scam people. The vegetables were a canned mix. Very bland. I was hopeful since this restaurant isnāt too far away. I guess Iāll continue to go to Westerville for well made African food and good service. I hate they are trying to fake lamb meat and their jollof rice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe dining experience was disappointing. I paid $17 for an oxtail dish that left much to be desired. One of the oxtails was quite small and had very little meat on it, while the larger one had tender meat but lacked flavor. The accompanying rice was dry and the sauce was barely noticeable. The only redeeming part of the meal was the flavorful plantains. I gave it a low rating due to these shortcomings. Additionally, the atmosphere was unpleasant as the place was crowded and uncomfortable. The service left much to be desired as well. The man behind the counter questioned me about payment despite the fact that I had already paid the lady. This encounter was unsettling and marred the overall experience. Needless to say, I do not plan on ordering from here again. The food quality and the attitude of the staff were both major...
