I ordered carry out. The service is what it is. You don’t order ahead you have to wait 20-30 mins for your meal. The atmosphere isn’t my idea of warm and inviting so would probably never dine in. And the food sealed the deal, I will never frequent this place. The rice was some of the blandest I have ever had. I ordered jerk chicken and the anatomy of what I received in my container was not chicken. There is no way. My first impression…. they gave me a leg quarter. Which isn't what I expect when I order jerk. But ok. It was smaller than the average leg quarter with barely any meat, whatever animal this thing came off of was definitely starved. And what meat was on the thing was so tough i couldn’t rip it off the bone. Needless to say it went in the trash. My husband had ox tails. And they were some of the smallest ox tails i have ever seen. This place needs to stop cutting corners and buy quality meat. Other than that… the plantains were good. But that’s not enough to get me to go back. 40 dollars for two non-edible meals. Just save your coins and pass...

This is my second time ordering food. First time I ordered in person. Food wasn’t exactly what I expected since I’m very familiar with west African cuisine. I ordered over the phone. Jollof with lamb. The lady repeated order then started talking to someone and just hung up. My husband went to pick it up. They didn’t have my order. Whatever I got was more like fried rice, not jollof ( nothing tomato based about it which is how it’s cooked). The meat was beef. Not lamb. There was one very small chunk of lamb. The huge pieces were beef, so I feel like they were trying to scam people. The vegetables were a canned mix. Very bland. I was hopeful since this restaurant isn’t too far away. I guess I’ll continue to go to Westerville for well made African food and good service. I hate they are trying to fake lamb meat and their jollof rice...

The dining experience was disappointing. I paid $17 for an oxtail dish that left much to be desired. One of the oxtails was quite small and had very little meat on it, while the larger one had tender meat but lacked flavor. The accompanying rice was dry and the sauce was barely noticeable. The only redeeming part of the meal was the flavorful plantains. I gave it a low rating due to these shortcomings. Additionally, the atmosphere was unpleasant as the place was crowded and uncomfortable. The service left much to be desired as well. The man behind the counter questioned me about payment despite the fact that I had already paid the lady. This encounter was unsettling and marred the overall experience. Needless to say, I do not plan on ordering from here again. The food quality and the attitude of the staff were both major...

Let me preface I have never had Senegalese food before. This food was beyond tasteful. During my 3 day stay, I visited this establishment twice. I ordered the #2 both times on the wall menu which I believe is called Thiebou guinar (Cheh-boo ghee-Nar). Second time I added the dessert with my main dish which was called a beignet I believe, not like the New Orleans kind. It was more like a deep fried sweet bread. Anyways if you’ve never had this sort of food, I’d try this as a starter as the main ingredients are chicken and rice. The depth of flavor is what will impress! I will try to find Senegalese food in my area now that I have tried this place. Oh PS, watch out for that scotch bonnet cause it’s not for the faint hearted šŸ˜‚

I’veI recently had a very disappointing experience at senetaste. My husband drove 20 minutes to the restaurant because I was craving Theibou Dieunne. Unfortunately, upon his arrival, they informed him that they didn't have Theibou Dieunne available. He ended up ordering tilapia, Dibi lamb, a ā€œlambā€ sandwich, fries, and fried plantain. Sadly, the quality of the food was poor. Everything tasted old, and to make matters worse, the lamb sandwich he ordered turned out to be a sandwich full of fries with no lamb in it. When he called back and offer to show pics the person said how can you show pics? bring the food back. Unacceptable!

This is by Far the best African/ Senegalese restaurant on the east side. It feels good to eat these delicious meals. The wait time is great and prices are affordable. You have a variety of food. When I have visitors I don’t bother myself in cooking I just order some dibi lamb, dibi chicken and rice . Customer service is also excellent and I also love the fact that it feels like the fast food restaurant where you have all the pictures on the wall and numbers to pick from. Kudos to you my African people. Edwina
