The Theater People — Attraction in Columbus

I don’t even know where to start. I contacted this company about 6 weeks ago through their website and I knew right away that customer service would be top notch because Lauren called me within a few minutes of my inquiry. To be honest, my only reservation in going with them was the price. It was going to cost me significantly more than the price of the TV to do an above-fireplace mount because of the need to move an outlet and patch the wall. However, after contacting several contractors to try and save some money by hiring different people for the various jobs, I realized that The Theater People’s quote was actually quite reasonable. The bottom line: this is the ONLY company that can do the entire project for you if you want something mounted above a fireplace. Best Buy can’t move an electrical outlet and the electricians in the area won’t patch the wall after they move an outlet. It was going to be a nightmare having an electrician do one job, a painter do another, and then have Best Buy come and take care of the mounting. In addition to the fair price and outstanding customer service, our Technician, Jeff, was fantastic. He arrived on time, was very intricate, and communicated with me every step of the way. Please avoid this company at all costs. I hired this company since they put in my original home theater system 10 years ago and all I really wanted was a new remote. They then sold me a new receiver which I truly believe I didn’t need but figured I’d go along with it which also had to be replaced. The new remote by the way is junk and they had to replace it but still is junk since it doesn’t hold a charge for more than a day. remote that they put in years ago thinking that they knew what they were doing. They went back and forth for months trying to get my TV & receiver to work. It’s never happened and my tv still goes off by itself and the remote they used is pure garbage as the replaced it once but still doesn’t operate correctly.

I never thought I would write such a terrible review but I’m doing it to help someone else avoid this company that have done just a terrible job!!

PS-They also took my CD player and never returned it even though I asked. For it to be returned.

Now I have to put up with my wife for hiring what was once a great company and I was FAR better off before...

If you are a woman do not use this company! I work as an IT consultant, in a male driven field, and honestly have never been made to feel as disrespected as this company treated me. I wanted my TV mounted and speakers installed at MY new house, however the technician basically refused to speak to me. Rather ,he continued to ask to speak to my Fiancee, I even said I could answer his questions and insisted he'd rather talk to him. This was about 6 months ago and it still makes me uncomfortable and upset just thinking about the situation. I personally hired The Theater People to install equipment and they refused to even talk to me.

Not to mention, we had a lot of problems with the speakers they installed, the TV never lined up to sound, after multiple times of coming back out to adjust, and we were convinced to purchase equipment that wouldn't even do what we originally wanted (work with Alexa).
