I had a Seinfeld level experience. The package, in question, had “attempted” delivery. Two people were home and the driver never knocked on the door. After finding the package note, with the rest of the mail they delivered, I called to get help. I wanted to either to pick it up or try for delivery again. I spoke to two separate people. It felt like both women were trying to bate me into an argument. I assume they treat people this way so they won’t have to help or do their jobs. While speaking to them I couldn’t read the numbers fast enough or slow enough. They would interrupt everything I tried to say. They told me multiple times the package wasn’t their (usps) responsibility. “Ma’am it doesn’t say this code on the form it’s not our problem” well it does and you didn’t ask and now you won’t let me speak to tell you it does. There was constant interruptions even trying to answer a question they had just asked. “Ma’am ma’am” as I was speaking. It could have been a one minute conversation but instead I was a punching bag for their obvious hatred for their job. I know being rude while trying to get assistance (especially with government employees) gets someone no where. I was respectful while trying to express my concerns. I really hope someone can actually read this or listen to how the two woman working yesterday speak to people. At the end of the conversation, once they actually let me communicate the information, that it was in fact their package, that they did need to open an investigation, that they actually spoke to me like I was a human being. Package showed up today after both Royal Mail and the shipper reached out. I understand that this is probably not an easy job but these two woman were obviously unhinged. Good luck to anyone else simply trying to get help. If you manage this branch I suggest you pretend to be someone trying to find a package and see how they handle it. To say that their behavior is a liability would be an...
Read moreSadly, I've had a bit of both experiences (polite and friendly to downright rude and dismissive) here, sometimes in the same visit. The older woman working the counter is absolutely wonderful, but you just have to go stand in line for a minute to see she gets talked down to and treated poorly by the younger girl with magenta dyed hair. I was next in line and the man working the counter at the time looks at me, waves me down and asks me to come to him to be helped. This same girl started yelling at me, 'SIR, SIR, SIR!' and then ushered some others who may have been waiting for a passport appointment over to the side I was just called to. I understand timeliness and I am a very patient person, but her tone and actions have been repeatedly unacceptable, both towards myself, other customers, AND her co-workers. I have had to go in there 3 times, and call the USPS hotline just as many, to confirm my packages are there for pickup: Packages that were supposed to be out for delivery (but were not) according to the incredibly rude and dismissive worker at this location. They also don't scan packages properly, nor do they provide the proper updates in-person. It would be worth it to set up a P.O. box at another nearby location just to avoid the headache of dealing with some of the rudest and most dismissive customer service I have ever seen. I plan to do this ASAP and furthermore stay out of THEIR hair, because helping customers just seems to be a bother when that's the job they are paid to do. Moreover, they will still be delivering some of my packages, I'm certain, so I'm figuring out currently how to avoid that in the future. Bless you, pleasant woman, for being able to work alongside such horrible negativity - You don't deserve...
Read moreThis post office is a absolute joke. I moved and had to come get my mailbox key. It's been 6 weeks I still don't have a key. The first time I came in to get a key it was 2:00 in the afternoon and it was just closed the gate was down. The next time I came I came at 11:00 in the morning and it said it was closed for Jimmy Carter's funeral which is completely understandable. Then I come back the next week and there was finally somebody here they told me I had to order my mailbox key and pay for it. So I did. They told me to be here the next Thursday and to come in before 11:00 and talk to a gentleman named jeff. I came in at 9:00 a.m., they said that he was running late to come back at 2:00. Came back at 2:15 he wasn't there. Come back 3 days later. They say Jeff wasn't there and he still didn't drop my key there. Wait another week come in at 2:00, they said they still don't have my key. Now it has been 6 weeks. I'm waiting for my tax information, and a lot of other documents I need. I come in and they tell me that it's going to be a couple weeks because the guy that does it had a family emergency. So now I have no way to get mail. Thank God it's not tax season.... Oh wait it is. It would be different if they at least had nice staff that would explain stuff to you. But all I've got told to me is one guy does it. The post office should be closed...
