Gonzales Park — Attraction in Compton

It was the first time we took our kids to the pool here and we will be coming back for sure! There are technically two pools one for smaller children and the other for the bigger kids and adults. I have a 2 and 5 year old so we stuck to the first one. It has shallow and gradually get deeper, but never two deep. It has a huge play area kids with sprinklers, waterfalls, a tire swing and two water slides. Technically there are three water slides but the large one was closed, I'm not sure why. Palmetto State Park has a lot to offer and a must see. If you’re looking to get away from a big park like Brazos or something more adventurous than Lockhart this is the place. If you’re into fishing, paddle boats, row boats, hiking, camping, play ground, history, scenic picture taking or bird watching this is the place. Make sure to dress to the weather and prep for bugs and snakes. I didn’t see either, but signs are posted. Gave four stars ranger was kind of rude...having a bad day happens...but you have to fake...

For a $1, its decent. we got there at 1pm and they closed down the splash pad area for about an hour because they hadn’t added the chlorine to the kiddie pool. But overall a nice place to visit for the kids. The staff was a little rude because we were first timers and I took a little longer to get out of the shower area. I will continue to visit because my kids enjoyed it. Hopefully my experience will get...
