Overall I had a great experience today. The spa is beautiful, calming, tastefully decorated.

Prior to my appointment, in the morning before I arrived, my card was charged $99. I was unaware that they pre-charged for their services. It was not an issue but I don’t remember seeing anything about that when I made the appointment online and it might be useful for some people to know.

My massage with Mariel was wonderful. She worked on all the areas I wanted and I did not want it to end!

My facial was with Sibil. I originally booked online with Jazmyne due to the reviews I had read specifically mentioning her. When I checked in I was not informed that it was going to be a different provider nor was I offered to reschedule to have Jazmyne specifically. It’s not a huge deal, my facial was still lovely but I do think when somebody specifically request a certain provider that they should be informed if that provider is not going to be available that day. My only other note on the facial was that she wore gloves the entire time, that was kind of odd for me. I have had many facials and typically the provider just wears the gloves when they assess your skin and do extractions but she wore gloves the entire time, even when doing the neck and shoulder massage. It was certainly a strange feeling. I’m not sure if that is policy for the spa or if that was a personal choice of hers, I did not want to make her feel uncomfortable and ask her. However next time, if it is not the spa policy, I will be sure to call and request a provider who does not wear gloves for the entire service.

Overall, I had an excellent experience and will certainly be back. Their prices are extremely reasonable for what they are and it was well worth the 25 minute drive from my home.

The wording on your website is very unclear about the deposit.

“ Allora Day Spa reservations are recommended. Either a credit card, gift card as well as a deposit or membership number is required to secure your reservation.”

When i read this, i thought the deposit was only required if using a gift card. Because it says “gift card AS WELL AS DEPOSIT” and i supplied my credit card so i thought that was all that was needed. Because it says “either…or” I assumed that because I provided a credit card number, i did not require a deposit. Again, not a huge deal but the wording was confusing.

I understand now it is the providers choice to wear gloves. I assure you I did not have cystic ance or any breakouts/open skin at the time of service.

As far as requesting a certain provider- I was able to pick a specific provider for my services when I booked through your website online . I picked Mariel and she was my provider today for my massage. I can provide with screenshot of my confirmation email if you’d like where it specifically says Jazmyne for my facial. I did not provide any additional “notes” to request this provider because I was under the impression that because I selected her, it was a given that...

UPDATE: I’d like to update my review to add that this company got in touch with me to apologize for the experience and to offer a refund on the portion of service that was missed/unsatisfactory. The manager Stephanie didn’t have to do that, so it was appreciated. I will say, however, that when I called (apparently they’re having spam callers or something) the receptionist initially hung up in my face. I had to call back and explain quickly before she hung up again that I was returning a managers call. I didn’t really get that much out before she transferred me. Absolutely rude and unprofessional. Anyway, I wouldn’t say “run! Don’t go here!” I’d say I hope you have a much better experience than I did. ##

I recently visited Allora Day Spa for a massage and body scrub. Why oh why couldn’t I have just booked a massage and that’s all? Well first, I liked the ambience of the spa at the entrance and sitting area. The receptionist was pleasant. My massage was ok as well as the therapist. The body scrub was a big let down, although the therapist was a sweet young lady. I do prefer to just space out in quiet and I should have said that, as she was chatty. However the service itself was crazy: it was a chocolate mint body scrub and while I was already on the table, i was informed that they don’t have showers so the scrub will be removed by hot towel on the table. I thought hmmm ok. Because of no shower I was asked if I was going home immediately after the appointment because the chocolate mint scrub would leave me sticky. As I was going other places, I was advised to choose another scrub that would leave me less sticky. Omg my body was so tense and shivering because I was sooo COLD (and it wasn’t the scrub’s minty ingredient). I really don’t know what I experienced. It was an application of scrub stuff, then wipe off, then lotion applied (and not rubbed in). When I got up from the most bizarre scrub experience I’ve ever received, My skin smelled like old water from the wet towels. I had to change back into my clothes in the public hall bathroom which was odd for me. However thankfully I had a bottle of scented handwash soap and hand lotion in my purse. I took a mini sink bath in the public hall bathroom so I didn’t smell like old water rags. I was in there for probably 15-20 minutes. At checkout, I opted for no tip and I NEVER refuse a tip. The receptionist asked how the chocolate mint scrub was and I told her I didn’t receive that one. She didn’t ask any questions, but took 30% off the balance owed and not the total paid.

You know how you just feel robbed a little? Like maybe somewhere on the site or BEFORE the service they should say: we don’t have shower facilities… or something.
