We had a fantastic stay at the Drury Inn. As soon as we arrived, the staff were outstanding! We were always greeted with a warm smile and felt the staff were genuinely asking about our day. Their hospitality made a real difference to our stay making it feel like a friendly and safe place to stay.||I feel this hotel offers great value for money in comparison to other local hotels. They offer a hot breakfast daily. The breakfast area is kept very clean and well-stocked. There is complimentary coffee and soft drinks are available throughout the day and again this area was clean and well stocked.||One of the standouts is the afternoon Kickback! It includes food and up to three alcoholic drinks each. We only ate here twice during our stay (as we were busy at the parks), but when we did, there was baked potatoes, pasta, chicken pieces, and a Taco Tuesday.||Our room was spacious, with two queen beds - perfect for our family of four. While the wardrobe could use a few more hangers and there were limited drawers, we managed fine with the extra space in the corner for luggage and shoes. We did encounter a couple of minor housekeeping issues, the bathroom bin was not emptied daily and one occasion where the bed wasn’t fully made. These were very minor and didn’t affect our stay.||Parking is free and we never had trouble finding a space. The pool was a welcome surprise. It is larger than it appears in photos. It was very clean and has a hot tub and their are barstools around the edge. There’s no lifeguard on duty but we kept a close eye on our kids. Unfortunately, not all parents did the same!||The hotel is ideally located if you're visiting Universal or SeaWorld. It took us about 10 minutes to get to SeaWorld and around 30 minutes to Disney. The roadworks on the I-4 added traffic but that’s beyond the hotel’s control. Restaurants on International Drive were only a 5-minute drive away.||We were offered a choice of room upon arrival and I requested a top-floor room near the lifts. We were given a room right next to the lift and despite my initial concerns over noise, I never heard any noise from the lift, hallway, or neighbouring room. A added bonus was that we could see the Disney World fireworks every night from our window!||I would 100% stay here again and am already planning to return on our next...
Read moreI was the trip organizer for our high school group of 50 people that was going to Universal. I spent days reading through online hotel reviews for every property in our budget that was close to Universal. Eventually I settled on the Drury Inn & Suites near Universal Orlando Resort. I booked through their sales team and spoke with Tami and Montserrat. Both of them were extremely professional and really made me feel at ease with all the details of booking a large reservation. I was able to provide all the requests for our group and they met every request I had - our group was all on the same floor, they booked the correct students into the correct rooms, they made sure our chaperones were spaced out in rooms throughout the floor, our rooms were ready when we checked in and our bus driver was able to check in early. I was so impressed with the check-in process! It was literally seamless and the man working at the check-in counter was so nice and friendly. He had all our key packets ready with all the student names on it. It made our check in process smooth and easy after a long day of performing and being at the park! The hotel was about 10 minutes from Universal and our bus driver was able to park the bus on property. The rooms were very nice and clean. They are nothing spectacular, but for the price they are very nice. Most importantly, the rooms smelled clean, had good heat/ac, the bed linens were clean and the bathrooms were spotless! For our entire group, I didn’t hear one complaint about the rooms. We also took advantage of the breakfast buffet the next morning. This was laid out perfectly for our large group. The buffet is extremely spacious with lots of options and the kids really loved all the fresh waffles! I liked that there was restaurant style seating, so all the kids could sit with friends and enjoy breakfast. Many hotels offer breakfast buffets, but you have to go and eat in the room or there are just a few tables. This hotel was able to accommodate our group of 50 with no problem! I would highly recommend Drury Inn if you are looking to book a hotel for your school group near Universal!! Also, just a side note of other things I researched: the hotel felt extremely safe and it also had a pool/hot tub that the kids were able to...
