Flippers Pizza - Dr. Phillips — Restaurant in Dr. Phillips

My family has been a part of the Dr Phillips community for 35+ years, and for many of them we have enjoyed Flippers pizza. HOWEVER, the Sand Lake location has recently disappointed me and my family time after time...and I can't let it go anymore. First, we ordered delivery that arrived almost two hours late, and was ice cold. The manager apologized and provided a credit for us. So, this evening, my husband ordered a pie for delivery (using our credit) and the manager said it would be at least an hour and a half - so we said we'd come pick it up. I drove to the restaurant and they tried to charge me the full price. It took 2 people to see we had a credit on our account. Then, I had to ask someone if our pizza was ready (because I was just sitting there waiting), and the employee came up to me and said "oh, no it's not ready because we ran out of spinach (one of the toppings we asked for)." Wait. So you never made my pizza because you ran out of an ingredient? I asked why they didn't just call us and they had no answer. The manager gave me the same canned answer he gave me last time - and I left with no pizza. Not an easy explanation for my family members waiting on the pie. To be fair to Flippers Pizza on Sand Lake Rd yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday and they were very busy. HOWEVER THAT IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT BEING TRUTHFUL. IN TODAY’S SOCIETY REGARDLESS HOW YOU LOOK AT IT I WAS LIED TO. I ordered my large pizza and was told they were running behind 30 minutes. OK with that. I ordered my pizza at 5 pm and showed up at 5:20 pm. I was told another 10 to 15 minutes. OK. 15 minutes later (now 5:45 pm) I asked for an update. The young lady checked and I was told another 15 minutes now making my 5 pm ordered pizza potentially ready for 6 pm. Ok because it was busy. Come 6 pm, I asked for another update. Now my back was beginning to hurt me as I have a bad back problem. I asked for another update and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes making my 5 pm order ready at 6:15 pm. WRONG 6:15 CAME AND PASSED AND GOT MY PIZZA AT 6:30 PM. THE POINT I AM MAKING IF YOU WANT A GOOD PIZZA (CAN’T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM THEM) GO TO FLIPPER’S PIZZA BUT DON’T EXPECT HONESTY FROM THE STAFF. We were looking for pizza🍕 near Universal Studios Orlando and seen that they had a Flippers Pizzaria near the Dr. Phillips area which is just 10 minutes away from the theme park🎢. We had been to the one in Lady Lake Florida a few times and is one of our favorites. This location made a great pizza that passed the "Kelley Pizza Test". The pizza test is when you hold your pizza from the back and the tip does not fall and drop the toppings off or go limp at all. The pizza was cooked perfectly! But, This Flipper location would have got 5 stars from us if it had the same deal that the Lady Lake location offered. Which is 2 for the price of one beers and wine and free WiFi internet. At this location, in Orlando, we couldn't even use our phones here except for maybe to call and text, due to the poor cell service 😮‍💨. And lastly, Lady Lake has a buy 10 and get one free punch card that they give you. Not so much here at the Dr. Phillips Orlando's location.
