I went to Barrow twice within the span of several days and placed multiple orders with approximately a $9000.00 total cost. The first day I had very good customer service experiences (though a different salesperson a couple days later when I returned to add an item to my order was rude and clearly didn't think I was worth spending much time with).
My furniture was scheduled to be delivered in two shipments. The first delivery of my furniture orders went well and was very prompt.
My second order still hasn't arrived. I was promised at the store that it would be no more than 8 weeks. It has been nearly 13 weeks. I called Barrow to ask for an update. When they checked, they realized the order had never been processed and attempted to blame it on the 3rd party manufacturer.
It may very well be the 3rd party manufacturer's fault, but Barrow failed to even realize my order was well overdue. If I had not called I suspect that many more months would have gone by with no one noticing at Barrow. This may partly be due to what appears to be a very outdated method of writing up orders on carbon paper sheets that Barrow uses instead of a more manageable computer-based system that would allow them to better track when orders are missing.
Barrow has apologized but failed to offer any compensation or discount for their failures. The quality of the furniture they sell is very good, but that means little if they can't even get an order delivered within a promised timeframe. I would hesitate to recommend anyone use Barrow as their first option for furniture purchases after these experiences.
Edit: Final furniture delivery arrived 16 weeks after initial order. I changed my review from 3 stars to 4 due to Barrow attempting to expedite the final delivery from their store (after manufacturer had dropped it off) to me and also for refunding a small portion...
Read moreI was very disappointed with my experience at Barrow Furniture in Pensacola. For a showroom, the store feels neglected and poorly maintained. The floor models are set up in impractical ways—for example, dining room chairs with wheels are placed on loose carpeting, which makes them snag and roll awkwardly. The overall furniture arrangements are cramped and awkward, making it difficult to really visualize pieces in a home setting.
The store itself also has constant issues. During my visit, the computer system was down, and I was told this happens often. On a previous visit the AC wasn’t working properly, which made the shopping experience uncomfortable. There always seems to be an issue whenever I have visited. The wall-to-wall carpeting throughout the store was stained and dirty, and the overhead light fixtures were covered in heavy dust—clear signs that upkeep is not a priority here.
Adding to the frustration, when I asked about purchasing a floor model (the only one available in stock), I was told there would be no discount—even though it had visible wear from being on display. That felt unfair and out of touch with basic customer service.
Overall, between the poor store conditions, constant building problems, and unhelpful sales practices, I cannot recommend Barrow Furniture Pensacola. There are far better options locally where both the products and the shopping environment are treated...
