I usually don’t like to leave bad reviews but my experience at this location today was terrible. Although the food was good, it does not make up for the treatment I received from management and the “bartender”. After I tried to order a frozen drink my server informed me that the frozen drink machine was broken and that they were not serving frozen drinks. The table behind me, who also were black women like myself , was also informed by their server (different from mine) that they were not serving frozen drinks because the machine was broken. A few minutes after I received my drink the table in front of me received the bushwhacker (a frozen drink) they order after me - I asked my server what was the difference between the three tables and why one was permitted to order frozen drinks and not the others and she responded that per the bartender’s instructions he was not making frozen drinks which is why she informed me the machine was broken. He told her then that he could make the drink after I spoke up, but it’s about the principle. This is unfair treatment- regardless of the miscommunication- everyone should be served with equal access to the food /drinks listed on their menu. When my server asked them (management/ the Bartender) to come explain to me why one table was able to order a frozen drink and not the others they dismissed her and did not offer to come sort out the issue. The food was good! My server was amazing !! She was fast to get to the table to take my order a tried her best to advocate for me during the misunderstanding but I will no longer come to this establishment solely based off the merit of their decisions in handling this situation. I am deeply disappointed and hope management takes action about situations like this is the future everyone deserves access to...
Read moreWe all remember the classic seafood restaurants of the 90's and early aughts that always seemed to be secret hole in the wall. The kind of seafood you eat with your hands and get dirty. The kind of place you don't see a menu that's dominated by fried foods. In 2022, such a place is hard to find, especially on this side of town.
I traveled by Juicy Seafood many times before entering. The location is one that's seen many a burger joint and bar come and go with distant memory. Some say the location is cursed to whoever opens a restaurant. Because of this I didn't pay much mind to the bright red crab logo and expected that I wouldn't see this place for long. I'm so glad I was wrong.
Since visiting Juicy Seafood for the first time last month, I have returned with a group of friends three times and never had anything less than a great time.
At face value, the interior makes you believe this place was plucked right out of bikini bottom, with fish nets and ship wheels 'round room, and a layout that somehow gives every guest enough room to dig into piles of shrimp without getting in anyone's way.
I've made a point to try a new menu item and beverage every time, and I've been so impressed with the constant variety of options and flavors available here. Not to mention the seafood itself, which steals the thunder of anything else you could consider having for dinner for days to follow.
If you've also passed Juicy Seafood by and wondered what awaits inside, you should do yourself a favor and go find that classic seafood experience you've...
Read moreThis place is generally pretty good but this past Thursday night I guess the cook decided that he/she wasn't going to work that night. I ordered the Tuesday special half a pound of snow crab half a pound of crawfish half a pound of shrimp two corn two potatoes for $28. This time when I received my food there was no seasoning on the food whatsoever I generally will get the Cajun seasoning medium but this time no flavor was in the food all together and it was undercooked. So I had to waitress take it back requesting to actually add the seasoning to the food and then re steam it. When I received it back for the second time the cook decided to add the juicy crab seasoning instead of the Cajun seasoning I ordered.. I had to ask the waitress to take my food back because I didn't want the juicy crab seasoning I only wanted Cajun. When my plate came back for the third time she told me that the cook could not do what I had requested and gave me a side of the seasoning to add on to my food but when I opened the bag back up I noticed that I was short crabs shrimp and crawfish and still it was undercooked. Overall I was still charged for my food even though I was truly not satisfied and wasn't able to eat with my family. Unfortunately because they do not value their customers I won't be going there anymore they have lost a customer out of me and my family....
